I want to make clear that I was not attempting to be political with my post. If anyone believed in any off-center theory without reputable proof, (flat-earth, NASA faked the moon landing, Bill Gates is having microchips injected with vaccines, etc, etc, etc), I'd question their analytical skills.

When that person's analytical ability is key to me getting good health care, I'm not using their service. Probably not limited to health-care. In my decades of software development, I've worked with several herp-a-derp types, their software universally sucked.

But, it's especially bad when a person of science, like someone in medicine, clearly does not understand basic scientific inquiry.

OK, sorry for the derail. I'm off my soapbox. For a little while, at least.

LOL, i agree with this.

I'm into fashion/ doing things that aren't too masculine but getting a manicure/ pedicure seems kinda odd (do your thing though). I will never understand guys that paint there nails. It seems like its happening much more often now but its just odd.

Unfortunately, most people ignorantly take your same view, "just stop doing it, LDO." Which just amplifies the shame cycle and leads to more chewing, picking, and pulling.
Great, I now have an STD in my search history again.

Had my second Pfizer shot yesterday. A little worse side effects than after dose 1. Fever (about 101), chills, aches, headache, etc. Luckily had the day off today so have been pretty much able to just stay in bed.

I did read an article that talked about the drug companies' use of terms like "mild to moderate" side effects. Supposedly these Covid vaccines all pack a bigger punch than flu shots in terms of reactions and side effects, so the term mild to moderate may be misleading. Still a worthwhile trade-off if the vaccine works, but I can see it reducing people getting it (especially if it takes 2 doses and people have reactions after dose 1, which I really didn't except for mild fatigue and a sore arm). I can see people bailing after the first dose if it's very unpleasant. I'll admit I feel kinda like crap since last night and still do.

I wouldn't be too concerned about people bailing on the second shot after they have committed to the first unless the side effects they experienced on the first were pretty rough.

The latest shingles vaccine comes in a double dose like that. I've heard quite a few people report worse side effects than from flu shots, but I haven't heard of anyone who decided to forego the second shot because of that--and COVID is something people want to avoid even more than shingles. Small sample size in my personal experience obviously.

Thanks again for volunteering for the research and letting us know how your experience is going. And hope you feel better soon.

Thanks yeah I guess you're right. Also I do think this will eventually be a single dose vaccine, although maybe not at first. I think J&J is starting phase 3 of their vaccine which will be single dose. Even Pfizer and I think Moderna have said that v2 of their vaccine will hopefully be a single dose.

But yeah folks motivated enough to get the first dose of vaccine likely would follow through with both, I think I read the shingles vaccine is +80% have gotten both.

If you ever talk very much to even one person who has had a severe case of shingles, you will quickly move it to your Do Not Forget list.

$119 per visit, 6-7 visits total over 2 years. Also 5 bucks a week for filling out an electronic symptom diary.

You seem to do your own reading prior to making decisions about your health. I would obviously discuss it with my PCP on my next visit and decide on a plan.

When I got mine, supplies of the vaccine were limited and availability was sporadic. Not sure if that is still the case, but I'd ask Monday if you need to check with them early in the window for your second dose to ensure that you will be able to schedule an appt within the recommended time frame.

My first thought was Mark should've used the NFSW acronym for this.

Then I realized there is no such thing, it's NSFW. Can a golddog have a slow pony too?

I tried to quit chewing my cuticles for 45 years. I tried that stuff for babies sucking their thumbs. I tried wearing gloves. For some reason only a manicure finally worked.

If you're a dude that doesn't get regular mani pedis you're really missing out on one of life's small pleasures. I haven't gone during the pandemic, but did so every 3-4 weeks prior. I'll start going again as soon as it's safe.

You'll thank yourself afterward. I've turned several guys onto going and no one has ever regretted it. I've gotten several thank you's for talking guys into going.
