So...my antenna arrived and I've got it set up - but CBS is nowhere to be found....in Las Vegas, that's channel 8. I tried manually tuning to 8, but it say "no signal."

Any ideas why CBS wouldn't show up out of all the other channels I'm getting over the antenna?

It's a cheap $23 indoor antenna....ABC, NBC, FOX, the CW and a bunch of Spanish channels come in fine....CBS is nowhere to be found, tho

If you are on the far North side of town you might have to go with an outdoor one.

Do you have any other TVs to test it on?

Forgive the obvious, have you tried rotating the antenna? I had an old indoor HD antenna that was crap and I trashed it.

I'm in the South....by South Point....yes, I've tried rotating it...but it didn't even show up in the channel list....and now everything below channel 15 is missing as well, too....I'm going to disconnect and try again

The thing to remember with digital signal is that it's a fixed band. Whereas older analog waves were more like a big "V", digital is instead like this "| |"

What I mean is, that you will either have a signal or not. It's not like analog where the signal gets weaker toward the edges. With digital, if you are right on the edge of the band, a slight adjustment of the antenna could be the difference between crystal clear reception and no signal.

As Videopro suggests, you should fiddle around a bit to see if you're actually able to pick up your CBS signal. If you're too far from your nearest tower, you'll need a more powerful (read: outdoor) antenna.

Or you get the same signal twice thanks to helicopters above you.

So I've figured out the IPTV stuff....at least what I need from it.

If you have a smart TV from LG or Samsung (or others, maybe), you can connect to an IPTV directly from your TV - and you won't need Kodi or something similar. You just have to buy the IPTV app in your menu.

I just followed this guys's directions, and voila:

Keep us posted Dom.

I see some people are offering what sounds like basically everything (PPVs, 1000s of channels, etc) for 10-$20 per month through their IPTV service. Anyone know if they're legit?

When you're using one of these services is it possible to use a channel quide so you know what's playing on every channel like you have with cable or satellite?

Legit as in they’re providing you with that content? Yes, at least some are.
Legit as in the content providers give them permission to stream their content? No, obviously not.

I don't know if it's related, but my local channels all came in fine on "normal" channels - 5, 13, 24, etc, but for some reason to get CBS, I have to go to channel 3, and go "+ channel" to get to 3-1, which is CBS.

It varies by city. In Vegas CBS is 8-1.

I will try that!

So far, everything works perfectly with my IPTV. All the games I want.

I just got this: FORMULER Z8 Android Dual Band 5G Gigabit LAN 2GB RAM 16GB ROM 4K + Extra Luminous Remote + Free 3 in 1 Charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N1X3WSS..._sZAADb2M5Z7H2

So far works great with the IPTV. I'm using it with a 2TB external hard drive so it works exactly like a DVR. It has a channel guide (EPG) that seems to work better/faster than my Directv and I can pause- rewind- ff and record just like a DVR. Pretty amazing so far

(I am using this with a couple pay IPTV services that are around $10 each)

Brock, is this just a DVR that I can use with my IPTV? And does it come with a hard drive, or did you have to buy the TB separately?

First weekend without DirecTV....

So far so good....loving Sling - it's not only streaming live TV, but it has a bunch of on-demand channels, like NBC and FOX, and they have a library of other TV show and movies....

I'm doing the orange+blue with the total TV package that includes a bunch of sports, news channels like MSNBC and BBC, and a DVR. It's $60 a month.

Couple that with the WatchTV, the only thing I'm missing from my TV guides are the local channels - which I have thru my antenna. There are actually more channels I have than I did with DirecTV. A lot more!

And I'm loving the IPTV content...

I'm wondering if there are any online TV guides for various IPTV apps....I'm using Helix and would love to to see what's playing without having to scroll through all the various possibilities....

Yeah, it's a DVR like device specifically made for streaming services. I bought the 2TB hard drive (Directv's Genie DVR is 1TB for reference) off Amazon for $50, it just plugs into the side of the Formuler via USB.

Look into Tivimate, I think it's $5 per year and has a very nice EPG (channel guide for your IPTV service). It offers other features too but I'm not sure what cause I'm still a noob

r/nflstreams

it takes a while to be able to learn what sites there are aids and which are legit and how to navigate past fake loading screens etc but typically the top voted ones are legit and they always have redzone

good rule of thumb is to do it in incognito mode so it won't place cookies etc

basically any sport other than soccer r/*sportname*streams will work, otherwise google it but add reddit to the inquiry

only issue is with soccer because those euro leagues police the hell out of it and enforce reddit to shut em down so you need to be brave and go to the constant rotation of dedicated soccer streaming sites like footybite, youpit, and ripple
