From what I've seen I agree there's no steak ITT I'd rather eat.

Thanks Bode, a great compliment. But at this point, there are so many impossibly amazing steaks in here, there's no way anyone's steak is the best. There seems to be no next level this thread can get to. It continues to blow my mind.

I'm not a hero, I just did what anyone would do in my position.

This thread has gotten so good that we've got back to back posts calling steaks perfect and they're not even the same steaks. The bar has been set absurdly high. This thing is a juggernaut. It just rolls over anything in its path. Anything that tries to pass itself off as an authoritative resource on steak just gets crushed by this thread. There is no merit to going anywhere else. You want to learn to dominate the beef game? You come to this ****ing thread, nowhere else. All hail the OOT steak thread.

It really is, which I find very strange.

Just picked up this bad boy from Whole Foods for Grilled Cheese Disappointment Son's birthday dinnah:

Prob won't touch most in this thread because he likes it more med-rare+, but that is a fine fine $20 steak right there.

I only wish I had some meat glue so I could cut that eye out...

So my local Costco had 0 complete ribeyes when I was there on Monday.

There were 3~4 cap roll packages and 2~3 eye packages.

I am happy the cap roll craze has started... because I happily bought the eye package

I was imagining a future when they are giving away the eyes to keep up with cap $50/lb demand...
But in reality I think they are charging more for the parts together than the whole steak .. like a auto chop-shop

Makes sense. It's far more labor to cut them up and package separately.

I concede that.. my hope was they recovered all that cost + more on the cap roll and the "eye" would actually be *discounted vs normal whole steak per-lb price.. however I think both were higher price per lb (but not sure as I had no whole to compare it to)

My local Costco had cap roll at 19.99 a lb and eye at 14.99 a lb.

Just curious - Is "eye" even the correct term?

At the local grocery store and they had choice T bone on sale for $6/lb. So I ordered a custom cut 3 lb one to pick up tomorrow. I doubt it will be as nicely marbled as Sunday's effort, but the nice price means the job is worth repeating.

Interior looks great.

This thread is definitely responsible for all of my subliminal steak purchasing.

So I ordered 3 lbs and got this 4.25 lb monstrosity. Marbling obv weaker than the Whole Foods edition, but $6.16/lb is Cooking A Good SteakCooking A Good SteakCooking A Good Steak all day long. Anyone else in to make another Porterhouse this Sunday?

Sorry for the slight derail here but this is the steak/beef lovers thread.

Inspired slightly by my Hebrew brother Nat, made a trip to Kenny & Ziggy's. The brisket is better than it looks. Don't quite think it's worth the about $35 for these two sandwiches.

This is a solid steak, I'm ok with lack of marbling.
