Hoagie,

I agreed with the gist of your original post. There's a reason certain producers command a premium price and are called out by name at butchers and restaurants. Whether that premium is actually worth it or not is of course largely a matter of personal preference vs objective quality.

right, i'm ruining the thread because i'm not cool with shilling for a scam operation and have little tolerance for some rando spewing nonsense, sounds good.

and btw i dont want or need you patting me on the back for anything. if i can help thread regs get better deals or spend their money more wisely (which means more quality steaks itt), then that's all i really care about. if it upsets you then maybe you should find a way to deal with it.

More wisely is subjective. Not too familiar with Snake River Farms but it doesn't seem like a scam. Just a super high end "sustainably raised" operation. Obviously steaks are cheaper at Costco and might even taste the same, don't know, but El D's post is correct. Maybe someone cares about knowing the cow's name and the fact that it ate a strict diet of humanely grown kale.

Rep,

Dude, chill out!

Hoagie was wrong about your source not being a legit supplier.

But you're being ridiculous in your responses to hoagie re: everything else. Snake river farms is a highly regarded producer, American wagyu is a commonly used and understood classification nowadays, and ~$50/lb for a mail order premium grade tomahawk ribeye is not out of line pricing at all if you compare apples to apples. Calling it a scam or anyone here a shill is just silly.

just because you got money and can afford it doesn't mean it's good value

you guys take this **** so personally, snafu made an incredible steak and my feelings about snake river don't detract from that. like, if you wanna go pay a premium for wagyu that isn't really wagyu, then by all means, knock yourselves out

rep,

Nobody seems to be taking things personally here except for you. You're creating an argument for no reason. Nobody is arguing that it's necessarily a good value. Just that it's a different product, and the value of that is subjective. You're the only one who is making claims about what is/isn't worth it, and using words like scam/shill.

FWIW, here's what you'll pay at Cut for Snake River American Wagyu vs USDA Prime.

I ain't mad at ya rep and if anything I've learned of another source for quality cuts when I'm in need again.

That said, someone bring this thread back on track with more cooked hunks of beef pics!

im not "creating an argument." i staked out a position, however bold, and supported it with empirical data. like, it's my opinion. hoagie took issue with it and instead of making a coherent argument to the contrary, he came at me with a bunch of bull****, so i dunked on him a couple times and here we are with the uninvolved posters catching feelings over it and whining about the thread being ruined.

and here you are, right on time to do your most predictable faux-politeness concern trolling routine about my tone/posting style or whatever else.

I'd like to apologize for spelling wagyu as "waygu". It'll never happen again.

lolreplol,

I won't speak for others, but you never shutting up and/or letting go of something and then always ending with insults and reverse-butthurt(that's where you claim everyone else is butthurt, but you are really the butthurt party) has become your calling card. That is a you problem. lolreplol.

Let me guess, you're now considering taking your wagyu ball and running home. That will show us!

Or maybe just try to stop always ending up being an *******.

Looks good! How was the interior? What method did you use?

Try as I might, I still can't find a Costco that sells prime Tomahawks.

ehhh most people wouldn't go to bat for the adornment of the confederate flag in a public forum while calling other people pieces of ****, because they have a modicum of self-awareness and aren't racist *******s.

you, however, did tho. spare me your tears, clown
