True? Plan on trying my next day off (on Monday). Anyone else know how to get a good tender steak?
Easy and DELICIOUS procedure:
Things you will need:
Cast Iron skillet (I use a Lodge square grill pan
http://www.webstaurantstore.com/lodg...530L8SGP3.html)
1lb Rib-eye bone in (use a god quality steak, dont go cheap, if you live near Raleys or Belair thats where i usually go, about 13$/lb)
Canola Oil
Sea salt grinder
Pepper
This method works best on a gas stove, but electric works fine.
Place skillet in over.
Preheat oven to 500deg.
While oven preheats rub steak lightly with oil and lightly cover with salt and pepper to taste.
Once oven is preheated and skillet hot, turn on fire to High (if you are using an electric stove you should preheat that so its at MAX by the time the oven is done preheating) place skillet n stove and steak in skillet. Sear for 30 sec on each side then stick it straight into the oven.
For Med rare cook about 3mins on each side, flipping only once.
Pull steak out of the skillet and place in loose foil for about 5mins.
Last step, ENJOY!
Typically I make this with Cheesy Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli.
Good Luck!
