Bought an All-Clad G5 8.5" frying pan.
It's 20 grams heavier than the triply, but that could be in the handle. The pan is clearly thinner and I couldn't tell any difference in performance. My guess is All-Clad decided the carbon fiber is a better conductor (maybe even holder of heat) and decided they could cut weight (costs?). Disappointed, but not surprised. All clad has been engineering all their lines to perform pretty much the same since the D7 flopped.
But... All Clad had it on sale, I needed a small 8.5" pan, and they were giving away a set of BBQ tools with a purchase of G5. Now I just need to use these BBQ tools on my nonexistent grill.
