Awesome stuff the last few posts!

I’ve been looking at 3 appliances lately. A proofing chamber for bread, a toaster oven, and an air fryer. I found a unit that does all 3 and I’m pretty excited. Sure it costs more than the 3 units combined but it’s not 3 appliances so I’m stoked. It’s got a dehydrator function as well which I’ll definitely be using.

So a countertop convection oven? I'm sure they go super high end too, but the ones under $200 and cheaper are awesome as well.

It’s a Breville. It’s the only one I looked into that can proof and dehydrate (so 80f). It’s pretty damned expensive but I’ll use it and they are known for quality.

I keep my house very cool all winter and it makes bread making a pain. I also don’t have a toaster since I rarely ate bread before making my own. The air fryer and dehydrator were just gravy.

Hahah no I did not. As appealing as chopping onions at shoulder height over a piping hot oven is, I managed some restraint.

A friend has a Breville, and his complaint is the room -- at least for the air fryer. it might be a different model than what you are looking at. However, he is jealous of the room my 5+ L egg-shaped air fryer has.

Hey Amoeba (or anyone else looking), the Superiore canes keep dropping (& you might be able to negotiate by making them an offer). This one is down to $1,749

That does look great but unless if I am doing a whole kitchen remodel, its stove top only for me currently.

no pressure, I dont get a cut, just passing along

I was going to buy one of those ranges but it involved too much time & $$ cutting countertops, cabinets etc, so I bought a cheapo Avantco oven ($250) to tide me over until I do my big remodel or tear down and build new

Fwiw, while expensive and I'm sure I'm overpaying for the name...I love LOVE my Wolf range and can't imagine I would ever have anything else. Super high BTUs...np. super low consistent simmer...got that covered too.

Only thing I wish I woulda done differently, in retrospect, was to get a built-in griddle. Next house I guess.

In the process of starting to think about an outdoor kitchen at my new house and griddle will definitely be a focal point. I have the cast iron griddle insert on my basic Frigidaire gas oven and I use it all the time, it just takes a bit of effort to clean it and the rest of the range after use. When I’m doing smashed burgers or something like that I usually cover the rest of it with foil. Regardless, I’m happy I live in a climate for year-round outdoor cooking so I can move the griddling outside.

Making some bomb patty melts inside in the meantime tho.

Integrated griddles are slick, but are too small for my tastes.

Made some sourdough pizzas. 70% KA bread flour 30% whole grain einkorn/spelt mix. I grow the tomatoes every year and freeze enough sauce for the year.

Failed on shaping the first one. Dough was super slack. Salvaged it and it still ate.
