Oatmeal raisin walnut cookies. This is kinda how I started cooking. I asked my friend where's she got these cookies. She said she made them. I realized Mrs Fields was bull****tin. I make bigger cookies if I want softer texture.

Last nights tri tip on a garlic bagel. I usually use a baguette.

Cookies and tri tip, very nice. Do you prefer sweet baby ray's over KC masterpiece or was that the brand on hand?

Have you considered coating the steak with sauce instead of the bread? Less messy, but equally delicious option .

Stubbs Smokey Mesquite is excellent for a widely distributed BBQ sauce. Random small BBQ joints in Texas that make their own sauce usually excel the store bought variety. I've had many BBQ sauces, including from roadside stands throughout Texas, and can vouch for their excellence.

Yum.

Doing half of my brined brisket as corned beef and the other as pastrami. Here’s some of the corned beef, done in Instant Pot with carrots, onions, and celery. Served with mashed potatoes.

I've had a bottle of Stubbs in my fridge for a year and can't finish it. Something sickly sweet and plasticky about it. Bad after-smell when you breathe it out.

My favourite bbq sauce these days is just hoison and habanero/scotch bonnet hot sauce mixed together with some montreal steak spice. Sugar in the hoison burns so good.

Cashy,

What's in that open-faced pizza thing? Recipe/vague description? It's the obvious standout from that group.

El d bounced with the chili thread or I can't find it. I left the seeds in everything but the anchos. It's got some nice heat. It came really nice for some last minute ****.

I wanted to get the taste of pepperoni pizza into a new shape.
Scraped out the inside of a tomato(not that much fun for 200 people btw) and made a tomato sauce out of it(oregano heavy like pizza sauces usually are)
Filled the inside of the tomato with
-tomato sauce
-salami chips(chips so i get a more intense flavor and another consistency
-buffalo mozzarella
-yeast(important to really imitate the pizza)

baked it and at the end topped it with buffalo mozzarella espuma(another consistency adds depth)

covered it up with a tiny pizza(for crunch) which was topped with a few goodies(the yellow mini tomato for example explodes in the mouth)

I entered with a different steak, but it came out even better. Everybody did well over there, and it's going to be a close call.
