I was sent this

and this

which are black licorice with what I can only describe as industrial chemical powder on it, and some hideous fish(salted cod roe actually) you squirt out of a tube.

Both were fookin disgoostin.

I don't think you would like fisherman friends. I don't really understand how anyone could like them. I asked my dad why he liked them and he replied that they kept him awake while driving. Which was really reassuring lol. I think I would prefer to take speed and I don't do drugs. Hideous stuff.

El D,

I definitely need to learn how to flex my Prime muscle, this may be a good opportunity.

That might even be a good thread...

Gonna sous vide a steak at 130 later today. Would love to do a bag of veggies that do well at that temp as well. Any suggestions?

130 is too low to cook vegetables. Cook most vegetables at 190 for an hour and then drop the bath and keep hot in the steak bath.

Yeah no amount of searching had anything less that temp so I thought that might be the answer. Thanks.

The new (sugarfree flavored mint type) Fisherman's Friends are great. I get them every time I go to France. Literally my suitcase is crossaints, fisherman's friends in different flavors, and 10lbs of butter like this:

Mint sounds good or eucalyptus. I just tried the wrong type by the looks. I love good butter! What a great thing to bring back lol. One thing I buy every so often is this local organic butter. I feel like Homer Simpson when I get it lol. It's so good! Expensive though.

130 is also too high for steak unless you like it medium. I know guides and stuff tell you 130 will be medium rare. My advice is to use 125.

The butter in france is amazing, plus salt crystals, and it's really cheap. My wife thought I was weird the first time I brought butter back (Had no intention to until I had a ham & cheese sandwich with butter instead of mayo, french standard), but now she looks in the freezer and says "when are you going back to france? we're almost out of butter"

Rib fans,

Sorry no pics, just a PSA.

Wow, just had instant pot baby back ribs. I might get one just for that. 20 minutes cook time for perfectly done bbq baby back ribs.

I have made them in mine. Top recipe for the tool. I thought they were too dry after 20 mins and a trip to the broiler. Gonna try again soon.

I was not aware that Fisherman's Friends were a candy or snack. I would always use them as a throat lozenge when I got a soar throat, or during running season to prevent a soar throat.

I think they are more a lozenge. I just said I would send them in a snack exchange because I thought you needed at least one bastardly item in there.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned itt or not, but if you like bacon, Benton’s is amazing and can be ordered online.
