Mia,

Salivating at that pasta!

Omg,

You can't go wrong with that sauce. I do the same as you though and go for more lime juice.

Short ribs sous vided in bulk at 132 for 3 days. Salt+pepper+some instant coffee.

Oven at 350 for 15 minutes to reheat after fridge or 25 minutes after freezer then torched. I put some random veggies, corn, and rice into the aluminum pouch to soak up all the extra juices. My wife absolutely loves it especially since she could do the finishing herself (she's barely past can boil water stage of cooking ability)

Grizy,

Love the reheating with veg/rice idea!

El D, just really ripened banana's tossed with a tiny splash of lemon juice so they don't burn before drying out. The residual liquid from the banana's caramelizes into that shatter around the chips.

how long and at what temp do you set you oven?

Do they get crispy like store bought or are they soft?

Yim, about 4-5 hrs @ 175f-200f, flipping after about 2.5 hrs. I like starting them at 175, then upping to 200 after the flip. They get nice and crispy, just let them go long enough.

Great reheating technique!

Carbs and veggies heated in au jus is too uncommon. One of the best pastas I've had is just a side order of pasta in a bag of cajun-viet shrimp. Corn is also an option, but if they had healthier greens available they'd all be amazing in that bag.

good call, I think I pulled them a smidge past 4 hours

They came out nice and crispy and pretty sweet, much better than store bought that are loaded with gawd knows what

Bananas are pretty amazing, I freeze them and make an instant ice cream that has the perfect consistency of real ice cream

Uh, all the store bought ones I’ve ever had have been one of the following as far as ingredients go:

Bananas
Bananas plus oil
Bananas plus oil plus sugar

Not exactly the most mysterious ingredients.

I'm on a diet so dodging unnecessary oil and sugar when possible helps save my food budget for more filling items, thus my vague gawd knows what comment because I know I used a banana and nothing else vs not necessarily accurate labels on many food items which probably have to average actual protein/carb/fat quantities on their labels.

IMO, these chips taste plenty good without extra sugar, oil and most likely some type of preservatives (which probably don't matter for my goals)

They're a little tedious and time consuming to make but worth the effort because I like crunchy food and they give me a nice fix for both my sweet and crunch tooth.

Will start making these weekly.

I've got a banana turning black and I'm going to see how it turns out dehydrated (assuming its not too mushy to slice). Could be a disaster but when making banana bread, the blacker the bananas the better, perhaps that will work here, we'll see...

thats it!

You can amp up the flavor by experimenting with other added flavors like cocoa powder, peanut butter, peanut butter powder, protein powder, vanilla, chocolate chips, nuts, added sugar (its not super sweet as is), etc

Yim, looking good! These are healthier than store brand chips because those are fried and usually have sugar added like El D said.

If you want another healthy snack, try making your own granola mix:
1 cup oats
1/4 cup peanut butter
*1/2 cup of dried fruit (optional)
*few tablespoons of honey or maple syrup (optional)

Mix it up and spread onto a baking sheet. Bake @ 300f for about 10-15 mins.

On it:

spun peanuts to make my own peanut butter. Used half cup rye oats, half cup rolled oats, black sesame seeds, sorghum molasses, pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes and might throw some raisins in when its done

in the oven now......

Wallah:

very easy and pretty tasty, could be sweeter but that could be accomplished with more raisins or better yet, dried cherries

Yim,

That granola is the exact kind of thing I would make to be “healthy” and then eat all of it in one sitting like a fatty. God speed!

Yim, homemade peanut butter into homemade granola is A+. That mix looks tasty af. Craisins and dark chocolate chunks can't hurt if you want to indulge a little as they are loaded with antioxidants.
