I've never smoked more than a pack total lifetime and even I want to light up after seeing the one anti-smoking commercial that makes it sound like you should grab a pitchfork and torch and execute all smokers because otherwise the smoke might drift through your apartment vents and give your 3 year old emphysema or something.

I mean my dad has COPD and probably did harm my health quite a bit growing up (lol smoking in the same room when your kids have upper respiratory issues), but making everyone paranoid about smoke in your vents is going just a bit too far. Some parent is going to lynch a smoker in a public park one day and those ads are going to be to blame.

We have a local news station (TV40) that covers the southern NJ shore area, about an hour east of Philly. They have a commercial jingle that goes on about how they cover local news, with this one line:

"...cause you don't live in Phil-ly... and neither do weee"

Oh yeah and that damn Sarah McLachlan with her sad ass dogs too. And I like dogs

Just came back from US after being there for 3 months and almost every commercial i saw.
Most of them are just so ridic. its beyond me. Just a huge advertising dildo in as$ 24/7.

This one pisses me off bc they're trying to tell you you shouldn't even smoke in your own home. Wtf I don't even smoke cigs but that tilts me so much

Also it might have been posted before but even so it deserves another mention. That stupid ****ing geico commercial where they have randoms on the street taste testing the drinks labeled geico and other. Wtf does a drink have to do with the quality or price of insurance?

Geico just spread themselves too thin and ran out of ideas. Who the **** else has 97 different ad campaigns going at once (gecko, neanderthals, stupid pile of cash with eyes, "Can Geico save you 15% on car insurance? Does a ____ ______?", taste test, etc.)?

I'll never use Geico. Even if their rates were like 20% less than anyone else.

I watch the golf channel a lot and every other god damn commercial is for The First Tee Dot Org. With guys like Arnold Palmer and GHW Bush telling us how important it is. **** OFF and stop ruining my TV viewing. Go away for the love of God. I'd rather have zombie Billy Mays yelling at me about putty than ever see another one of these god damn commercials. Take your charity and stuff it up your ****ing *******.

this probably isnt really all that relevant to the discussion, but since there isnt a "people who quote commercials that put you on tilt" thread, i guess its going here:

i've been running into a lot of douchebags that reference the awesome dos equis/most interesting man in the world commercials. they turn it into a joke, but it's never really funny or makes any sense even from a comedic standpoint.

example: somebody at work will be drinking fiji water and another coworker says something like "hey is that water any good?" and then the person responds with "i dont always drink water, but when i do, i drink fiji" and then my ****** coworkers all laugh.

it reminds me of the simpsons episode where homer is really smart and all the people are in the movie theater and laughing hysterically at the dumb jokes while he doesnt get it. anyone else dealing with this???

See I actually liked them. Typical understated Geico commercial. Not offensive, not in-yo-face, not insulting your intelligence.

They aren't on the same level as the gecko or the cavemen (cavemen on ducatis is GOAT) but they aren't tilting to me.

Incidentally, the new Old Spice "I believe in mysmelf" commercials are even worse than the the previous ones. I like how they keep topping themselves with badness.

There's a diaper commercial with cartoon kids ****ting their pants and getting scored on it that's pretty bad as well.

Edit: Meh, Geico commercials don't bother me that much (although I never got why the Neanderthal ones were so popular), and these don't either, but having an insurance taste test is pretty stupid.

Any commercial that features people dancing animatedly while singing, "Nausea, Heartburn, Indigestion, Upset stomach, Diarrhea." go **** yourself pepto bismal.

Any commercial that has a bunch of stock 20-somethings, which always has to include the light-skinned black girl with a big fro.
