I love to read, but sometimes I just run out of ideas on things to read. Sometimes I'm not in the mood for a novel or even some form of non-fiction. After watching Ironman this past week, I think I'd like to try some comic books.

Despite being a nerd, I never caught on to the comic book thing. I'm not sure what I would like (I liked Ironman and pretty sure I'd like anything related). Any suggestions? Do I have to start at a certain point or can I just pick up a comic and get into it from there (i.e. do I have to pay a kagillion bucks for a Superman 1 comic to get into the superman franchise?)

The best value will be from trade paperbacks, reprinted collections of past comics. I saw Iron Man "Demon in a Bottle" a few weeks ago in the book store. Great read from 1980s Iron Man. Look at "Watchmen" and X-men "Dark Phoenix" too.

Whatever you do, buy them off eBay where they're basically free.

Y the last man

The league of extraordinary Gentlemen
From Hell
V for vendetta (basically anything by Alan Moore)

Maus

Batman: The killing Joke

Though some of these these are graphic novels.

Visit a local comic book shop.
They should sell this there. Start with this.
