Was told by a co-worker that another was buying a new car and trading in his old one for under market (which people have been telling him for months). Trade in was already approved and new car was signed for with deposit getting within a few days to a week.
I decided to offer him another $500 on top to resell it.(which I said) and he agreed to ask the dealership if it was ok and was happy to. Dealership says no problem. We agree he keeps it until he gets new car and he let's me know when he needs the money, no problem.
A few days later an ex coworker who had previously expressed interest offers him another 1k on top of our offer.
So the dealer offered to buy a car for a certain price and the seller agreed, and then you offered more and the seller decided to sell to you instead. Now somebody else is offering more and the seller once again wants to sell to the person who is offering more money?
Thanks guys. I've realized I'm being pretty selfish to push the issue even though I could enforce the contract pretty easily via small claims.
Nothing actually has happened as I haven't seen him or made an attempt at contact as it will all go down early next week.
I actually went halves with another subordinate of mine and was more excited on the team building aspect of us cleaning it up and reselling rather than the monetary pay off would have only have been around 2-3 grand each.
