You're probably picking up the smell in your clothes from something you're exposed to.
How good is your ventilation/insulation in your house? You may not notice when you're at home because you don't notice smells you're often exposed to as well as others do.
Try using something to suck in moisture/smell around the house, like baking soda/charcoal etc.
Make sure you wash towels/clothing regularly to ensure that bad odours don't build up. Towels can be a typical culprit for bad smells if you reuse too often between washes, due to moisture in the bathroom.
Good luck

Did you take a **** in your car one day? That may effect your smell.

If you use a front loading washer, be sure it's clean.
If there is gunk growing in there, it will transfer into your clothes.
There are cleaning products that take care of the gunk in the machine.
Always leave the door open / unsealed when not in use.

OP says it's only when he plays poker--so it's likely not a washer issue. He's likely very nervous and that's the sweat coming out. I've had the similar issue with the rush of playing poker/being nervous when I first started playing.

Yes he's nervous and sweating more than usual into his moldy clothes.
Or he has cancer. Gl OP.

Dry your clothes as soon as the washer finishes. Spray yourself with Febreeze. We used to put dryer sheets in our pockets when we played golf in summer to keep the damn dog pecker gnats from buzzing around
