Good morning.

Txdome. I'm well and in fine spirits thank you, sir. Apologies, dear chap, I don't have any pictures of tables to hand at the moment, but there are certainly some breathtaking examples around the world and I'll endeavour to find a few to post soon.

Cassette. Thank you for those kind words, sir, along with the constructive criticism it is most welcome and always sincerely appreciated.

Best wishes, gentlemen.

It's obviously fake. He didn't use the correct English.

I was thinking the same thing, sir. He should, of course, be using maximum running English.

Thx for the recommendation - excellent read.

That’s awesome. Care to share the story on how you acquired the ball?

I will indeed, sir. It is actually quite remarkable.

I must beg a delay, however, as I'm just leaving for the evening... to play poker as it happens.

Chat again soon. Best wishes.

Hello again, everyone.

Whilst barely believing my good fortune in somehow finding the missing king from such a rare and desirable set of billiard balls, the manner in which it came about is nothing short of extraordinary. A veritable miracle in my view. It sure feels like a million-to-one shot anyway.

After pasting up my wanted poster on every single cyber billboard one could possibly imagine during these past six months, my diligent efforts eventually paid dividends this afternoon when one kind stranger sent word that a full set of these precious Poker Balls had just been listed on eBay for the princely sum of $295 plus $35 shipping.

Fantastic, I thought. It would mean paying out strong money for another full set, of course, but at least a complete example would at last find a home in my treasured collection. An opportunity I wasn't about to pass over for sure.

Upon clicking on the link and viewing the item up for sale, it took me a moment or two to register the astonishing sight before my eyes. It was indeed a full, pristine box of Hyatt's elegant Poker Balls in all their glory, but nestling in the corner alongside the cueball was a spare doubleton that the seller had acquired somewhere on his travels and was including here as an extra 23rd ball bonus.

Take a wild guess at the identity of that extra ball, ladies and gentlemen. Yep, got it in one... His Majesty, The King of Diamonds! The odds must be truly astronomical. I now have two full sets, so will be able to sell one to a fellow enthusiast and recoup a good slice of my costs.

I have some screenshots here on my mobile phone, but can't see the necessary icon to upload them at present.

Best wishes, everyone.
Ruperman.

Ah, I have just noticed that I am not permitted to post attachments. As soon as I can get to my computer I'll upload the photographs from there.

Best wishes.

I've purchased at least a dozen rare sets since my previous contributions last year, two of which are truly exceptional... four figure valuations for sure.

Hopefully be able to share some more photographs with the good folks of 2+2 in the near future.

It’s like a singleton except it’s double.

Of course, sir.

A doubleton is what we sometimes call two identical cards over here in England (when playing games that use more than one deck). The poker billiard ball set I have just been lucky enough to find had two diamond kings.

Best wishes.

By the way, gentlemen: Is the ability to post picture attachments a privilege only granted after one has been a member for a certain period of time?

Probably not, post it to an image site and post the link in that thing that looks like a mountain.
