I laughed my ass off. Movie had faults and was slow in some spots but I enjoyed it.

Yeah I mean name 1 funny scene from The Hangover. Hint: You can't!

Some very funny moments. Like all of these movies was dragged down by the story elements that are intended to be meaningful (the baking, the cop, and good lord **** the cop/baking combo right in the ass). Melissa McCarthy was ****ing fantastic.

Random factoid: the air marshall was played by Ben Falcone, who is Melissa McCarthy's real life husband. They were both members of the Groundlings in L.A. and were there at the same time as Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Wendy McClendon Covey (the one with 3 kids), Michael Hitchcock (the jewelry store boss) and Mitch Silpa, the bald flight attendant.

Ben was my teacher when I went through the Groundlings program. Super awesome funny guy and a great teacher.

Oh, and Maya Rudolph's mother was played by an old early 80's Groundlings alum, Lynne Marie Stewart, otherwise known as Miss Yvonne from Pee Wee's Playhouse!

Jordan Black is also in the credits but I don't remember him in the movie, he's credited as Horseman so he may have been leading the horse Wiig rode into the shower.

Kristen Wiigs 2 roommates had the best scenes, imo.

Way too reminiscent of Little Brittan USA, which is what I think they were trying to portray. Its just not funny after certain amount.

Those British siblings were pretty awful and didn't add anything to the story imo. The guy who is a spitting image of 2+2's Augie* had 1 good line about "put up a sign that says don't read my diary, go through my things or try on my clothes."

Wow, you've got to be kidding. What do you find funny then (or do you have no sense of humor)? I've seen The Hangover four times and still laugh at many of the scenes. (Best Line: "I didn't know they gave out rings at the Holocaust.")

Just saw Brides Maids last week. Got a call from two buds to go see a movie and when they said which one it was, I was pretty resistant...thought it was going to be a bad chick flick. I was pleasantly surprised. Lots if "laugh out loud" moments for me, but I did find several scenes to be contrived (already mentioned itt) and thought they missed some opportunities with the lesser bridesmaids. I liked Jon Hamm's "male pig" character ("Hey **** buddy!", when he goes to pick her up by her broken car).

I felt like I got good value for my movie $$...entertainment and some laughs.

Hangover was entertaining, not 'rave-on-an-internet-forum-and-willing-to-fight-naysayers-funny' though.

I didn't like it as much as many in this thread.

It was ok - funny at time - 6/10 for me (I'd give hangover 7/10)

I guess I am in the minority thinking it was meh and not close to a top comedy. I really like Wiig and the Brit guy/Cop, big chick was funny at times too.

This movie was weird for me b/c the first half I hated and the second half I like more and it is usually the opposite but it was because the tension between Helen and Annie was awful. I don't mind tension but it went over the line into unnecessary. Weird how they all of the sudden wrapped up the Annie/Cop storyline too but that is just being nitty.

I laughed the hardest when Annie had to ride the horse to the house.

Just saw this and really enjoyed it.

Favorite scenes
3. Airplane scene
2. Everything about the over the top wedding shower, especially the butterfly in the invitation.
1. Crapping in the middle of the street in the wedding dress.

liked it, solid 7.5 / 10, but can't understand any of the comparisons to Hangover or any of the Apatow movies. there was way too much srs bizness in this movie to compare to those, probably b/c this was written by chicks.

I haven't seen it yet, but I plan to. Hopefully they can change my mind, but I love stand up comedy, and always sigh when I see a woman approach the stage b/c they usually suck all kinds of ass.

Another random factoid: Melissa McCarthy is a cousin of Jenny McCarthy.

I liked that Terrible Terry Tate had a cameo in this movie.

Just saw it and thought it was hilarious. I laughed in almost every scene. The dress shop, the airplane, the jewelry store scenes were also great. Also the first Wiig/Rudolph scene in the cafe was hilarious.

Wrapped up a little too easily for me. Wiig is at rock bottom and then all the sudden she has one conversation with Maya (I have no idea what anyone's character's names were) and everything is fixed? Aside from finding the cop, which was pointless, she did nothing to get on top.

I agree with those who say it was better than the Hangover. But then, I thought the Hangover was pretty overrated in general.

Melissa McCarthy was amazing.

I guess I just suck at liking comedies. Initially I had no desire to see this movie but then I read a bunch of good reviews so I felt that I should see it. Of course not all was lost since I suggested it to the girlfriend and made her think it was a chick flick.

I would be lying if I said it wasn't amusing at times but for the most part I felt disappointed. I keep seeing the airplane scene mentioned as being really funny. What would have been really funny was the plane not being divereted and those girls set loose in Vegas. There was a lot of potenial there with those ladies at a male strip club or getting a male escort; it should have been comedic gold. Instead we got a boring bus ride home.

My favorite random factoid is that the lady who played Kristen Wiig's mom is ****ing dead now.

True, that scene made no sense. I know women aren't logical at all but there is NO WAY Maya would not have beaten the **** out of her and kicked her out of her apartment after she broke in. But she's like "Oh, hey - I'm sad." lol. But whatever it's not like it detracted from the comedy gold in the film.

Oh man that is a good idea. I bet the writers didn't even think about that. That would have been so fresh.

Actually, when they got on the plane I was thinking "I really hope they don't go to Vegas." It's just seems like the most familiar, obvious choice they could have made. Not that it couldn't have been funny, but it's just well-trodden territory. There was a pretty unfunny "bridesmaids go to a male strip club" scene in The Proposal.

Hah, I thought the exact same thing. Actually when they were all deciding to go to Vegas I was thinking "Oh God no" then when they were on the plane I was "worried" they were actually going to show scenes in Vegas.

I think they did it right by not showing Vegas. I think they just had all those "great" ideas for the plane humor that they needed a plausible excuse to be on a plane. I liked a lot of the plane stuff but it dragged way too long.

The biggest problem with this movie is that it would not end. I watched it last weekend with my wife, we both enjoyed it overall... but ... I would have enjoyed it more if it were 90 minutes long, or if they cared to develop more than one character.

The scene when they were finding bridesmaids dresses was not necessary and added no value, it was only for shock value. The writers deliberately neglected the male lead, he could have not been such a pushover jackass and participated in the story a bit more. I disagree with the critics that this is a 'good' movie, I would say that it is worth a buck at redbox, but nothing more.
