Bridesmaids Bridesmaids

Anyone else see this yet? I thought it was hilarious. Directed by the Freaks and Geeks guy and Wiig wrote it with someone else. Non stop hilarity. I thought the gross out stuff in the middle was a little over the top, but otherwise, It was really funny. Reminded me a lot of Knocked Up in tone and feeling.

Filmdrunk review, Vince is also awesome.

I haven't seen it, but every reviewer I trust says it's pretty great.

I don't agree entirely with the FD review, but glad to see others visit FD, its a pretty great site.

The Filmdrunk Frotcast also discusses Birdesmaids (with LINDY!) this week. The Frotcast is excellent and you should listen to it.

I don't always agree with Vince's take on movies, but he's clearly really smart and I like the way he approaches things. His point of view is consistent enough that you can know how you'll feel about a movie based on his review typically.

Going to see Bridesmaids alone as a single guy must be the new cinematic nut low.

I mean I won't because **** seeing a movie in a theater if **** doesn't blow up and it needs to be seen in that environment, but seeing movies alone is awesome. When I go with my friends, our only interaction in the theater is sarcastic whispering at the previews. Beyond that it's just sitting there watching something, I don't need help for that.

The movie was much more enjoyable than I expected.

I'm going to check it out this weekend. Looks pretty promising. Good cast/director/producer/writer.

Good interview with Paul Feig (director) http://www.esquire.com/features/the-...interview-0511

i really enjoy going to the movies with friends, because im a big fan of sarcastic whispering, but i occasionally go to a movie by myself (usually during the afternoon), and i also really enjoy that. its pretty zen and peaceful if you see the right movie.

QFT it's a clever comedy and although the run-time is long it never slows down.

Hangover is easily funnier. Bridesmaids is actually a fairly decent John Hughes'ish (kind of) storyline.

I really don't get the comparisons between Hangover and Bridesmaids that seem popular. They aren't really that similar.

This is not worth running out to the theatre to see asap or anything like that. But if you're at the theatre and undecided on what to see and feel like seeing a comedy then you won't be completely regretting seeing this one.

Would this be a good date movie? (not first date obviously)

the fat chick's schtick in the previews reminded me of rosie o'donnell in beautiful girls :/

anyway i trust you guys and will see it.

watching movies alone can be ok, but watching something like fast five without your buddies there to LOL with seems very bad.

One of the worst movie experiences I ever had was watching Batman and Robin (at home) with my roommate's utterly vile (but dear God so, so hot) girlfriend, who was really interested in the movie and got pissed when we tried to make fun of it.

In retrospect I have no idea why I sat through the whole thing. This seems like a very bad decision on my part.

Wifey and I going to see it this weekend. We saw Billy Gardell (Mike from "Mike and Molly") at the Improv last weekend and he said if you like "The Hangover" (loved it), go see the female version. He also said that Melissa McCarthy (Molly) stole the whole movie. We shall see.

Because you wanted to hang out with the hot chick, ldo.

Anyway, I've accepted Bridesmaids as a movie I'm fully willing to see on PPV or DVD.

First I've heard of this. I like Kristen Wiig though and John Hamm (I think that was him?). I'll probably check this out with the ol' ball and chain this weekend. I also need to see Fast Five I guess. Everyone says it's awesome.

I like Chris O'Dowd (brit guy) alot from the IT Crowd as well as Wiig so I was interested to see if it would be good. Seems like I'll have to go check it out.

Wow, I would never have thought in a million years that this movie would get such favorable reviews from people here. I was thinking it would be another Bride Wars and was planning to stay far, far away. Maybe I'll actually see it.

It's amazing how much weight I've come to put on the opinion of 2+2.
