1 and 2 are standard. Nobody uses 3 and 4. Nobody really uses 1 and 2 either, b/c (most) cyclists don't gaf about being considerate on the road even if it makes it easier for drivers to avoid hitting them.

This may surprise you but typically, different countries have different rules and laws. Also, the bike lane setup and where people ride might be different from country to country. In some states/cities here, bicyclists ride among the traffic. They can use a left turn lane intended for vehicles to turn left. In New York, they weave in and out of traffic all the time. A lot of roads don't have bike lanes and they'll ride among the cars on the main road.

I don't see what is so "lol" about bicyclists using signals to let vehicles know of their intentions so they don't get run over. I find your bizarre "lol" overreaction to be even more absurd. And I used to regularly go on 30-40 mile rides as a teenager so yes, I'm familiar with riding bicycles among vehicles and always did so safely.

This officer should be fired. All the bike rider did was throw his bike at a cop car, he shouldn't have even been cited for that! I can't believe cops still get away with this this type of thing

And this is the real problem. The infrastructure in the US makes it close impossible to ride bicycles around cities. Having bicycles in the left turn lane is a horrible idea and is always going to cause issues. There's a reason why all the things you guys complain about aren't really issues in places like Amsterdam and Copenhagen where more people use bicycles than anywhere else.

Also, as much as you guys like to deny it(because hurr durr bicycles are the only ones that make mistakes), there are also issues of car drivers in the US either not knowing how to drive properly when there are bicycles on the road or simply not caring about the people on bicycles.

Of course there are lots of terrible drivers out there who have no clue what they're doing, which is why it's so important that cyclists are extra responsible, because regardless of whose fault an accident is, they're the ones putting their lives at risk.

I live in a neighborhood full of four-way stops and one-way streets and I've never seen a cyclist slow down at a stop sign or bike the right direction on a one-way street. I once thought I saw one signalling a turn, but they were just adjusting their earbuds.

Since when are cyclists "classes" of people? I am legit amazed... and impressed... when I encounter cyclists that legit follow the rules of the road—cause it is so ****ing infrequent.
