Reuben fans,

The cheesesteak lobby has an impressive get out the vote operation.

Six votes down with about an hour left in the contest, and at most there are maybe 1 or 2 cheesesteak votes I might disqualify.

So searching menus, I find something Reubenesque (usually basically legit except many have weird sauces) on most of the places we've gone for session. I honestly never noticed it before, but it seems to be pretty common.

Basically, yes, it seems to be on the menu of each one that has corned beef and cabbage. Learn something new every day. Still do't think of it as an Irish sandwich, though. More a target of opportunity for leftover corned beef.

Since when does a Cheese Steak have to have The Wiz? Screw The Wiz, that stuff sucks.

Thinly sliced rib eye, provolone, grilled onions, hot cherry peppers and mushrooms on a fresh baked Amoroso's Italian Roll. Tough to beat my friends. Love a good Reuben as well but I had to give the nod to the Cheese Steak.

The run of the mill Reuben> than an average Cheesesteak but then again I have had some Cheesesteaks that blow doors off most Reubens. But the Reuben at the old Carnegie Deli in NYC is better then any Cheesesteak evar, so I'm voting Reuben.

Of course my vote shouldn't count because I like my Reubens on Sourdough instead of Rye.

One thing I learned from this competition. You wanna really know what makes a person tick? How they think. Their views on the world. What's the cut of their jib? Just start talkin sammiches. I can see an influx of this question being asked at job interviews in the near future.
