if the point of the thread is "best/biggest rock band of the last 10 years" I don't see how anyone could say its not Muse. They are the only band even listed in this thread that can fill arenas.

according to setlist.fm the only band that has actually played arenas at all recently is the white stripes (which surprised me).

I said that because I listen to aggressive music and there was a resurgence of good Metal/Hardcore bands that formed after 911. I have to believe it's was because people were pissed off and found a way to express their anger through music some good old fashion heavy music.

With that said I noticed the thread asked for best "rock" bands of the last decades.

IMO: The best "Rock" band in the last decade is The White Strips. But I don't listen to much newer rock bands. But they are one of they very few I think are pretty cool.

And BTW for all the Radio Head fan boys & Girls they came out in the 90's.

This is best music of a particular decade, not favorite bands that originally formed in that decade. Radiohead btw

Depends what you mean by best.

I'd probably put Red Hot Chili Peppers up there. Californication was 1999 but they put out 2 albums in the decade that were both pretty good.

As far as technical ability goes, they are pretty up near the top. John Frusciante is an amazing guitarist. Even all time RHCP are up there.

Unless you mean bands founded and mainly popular in the decade. In which case, my bad, disregard this.

RHCP is also a pretty legit suggestion.
