I live in a condo, shared walls with neighbor, shared entry way. Nosy neighbor tells me that the people across the hall sprayed for bed bugs this week. They've never been in my place, I've never been in theirs. Do these guys travel well, will they make their way through the hallway/walls to my place? am I screwed? Considering just moving.

pry depends how heavy the infestation. saw the thread bumped, I have taken care of them, my infestation seemed to be almost entirely in the master bedroom. I bought a steamer online and steamed everything in that room super thoroughly. from the bed frame, many many times, to the carpet, closet, etc. checked every bedroom item super thoroughly before removing it from bedroom. then steamed away. I always taped the small crack under the door, taped it well when I was not in there working. passive traps have been clear for awhile, have not had a sign of or saw a bed bug in quite awhile. preeeettty sure they're gone. if you have them, consider this option. pros: no chemicals, u literally just slowly steam everything (dry vapor). I also saved a lot of money by not hiring, I did have to buy a 500 dollar steamer but that thing makes anything look brand new.

Unfortunately, yes, a lot of recent talk about this, Venetia (strip) and Four Queens (downtown) recent reports. Bed bugs kind of get the headlines, but two others are causing trouble also: "DIRTY ROOMS CAUSED SCABIES" @ Hard Rock, and "Super lice becoming an unwelcome nuisance - LiceDoctors can quickly treat you and your family to eradicate the lice. If you are staying in a hotel, we simply come to your hotel room and treat you there. "

So far so good wrt bedbugs in my apartment.

I did however get them while backpacking through Eastern Europe. Spent most of my stay in Dubrovnik getting rid of them before moving on. Kind of ruined the trip for me. Thankfully, they were gone before my trip finished.
