There's a reason I haven't had bologna since I was a kid. It's that I buy my own groceries now.

Good luck, though. If you can make that stuff palatable, more power to you.

I hadn't had bologna in decades until a couple of months ago I tried a new restaurant in the area. They had some off-shoot of a bbq sandwich with bologna and a few other items that made it sound very interesting. I fell for it. And I quickly recalled why I hadn't eaten bologna in decades.

If I'm eating a hot dog, it's because I'm starving and options are very limited.

Or chili cheese.

Yeah, hot dogs are out. There's way better sausages out there. Better than bologna tho, I'll give you that.

Can't beat a good vienna beef dog, but most hot dogs are garbage.

Obv if we're talkin sausage hot dogs are bottom tier, but I don't really consider a hot dog a sausage. It's kind of it's own thing

Not to give away all of the secrets to my country ass upbringing but I judged meat and poultry in high school in FFA. We routinely went to the local slaughter house for our learning, and how hot dogs and bologna are made was one of those lessons.

Spoiler:
And I LOVE me a good hot dog! Bologna... Not so much.

To the point though, one of the boys works at "a local sub shop". At this store they have a drop dead use by date, so any leftover meat the employees are allowed to take home or it goes in the trash. Their salami is really really good. (No it is not Subway) He brings home about an 8" log and I threw it on the smoker for about 2 hours. Threw a couple of slices on the gas grill, melted some mild flavored white cheese on it and some grilled sweet onions on toast w/spicy mustard. Super tasty little sammy. Just do it and report back.

Future Farmers of America. 4 years in high school. Also learned how to weld (mig, tig and stick), pipe threading and plumbing, electrical wiring, small engine repair, land judging, cotton judging, wool judging, principles of home construction and parliamentary procedures. Oh, and I raised a pig one year. Didn't win any blue ribbons but it was damn tasty.

That might be a great sandwich, but it's not because of the bologna.

I make a tasty Greek salad, but the lettuce ain't the highlight.

Made a couple pork butts this weekend on my akorn kamado. Really happy with how they turned out. Pulled apart very nicely.

Just had some Q39 in KC tonight for the 3rd time. By far this sandwich I got tonight was the best dish I've had there. It was the short rip griller. Short rip, au jous, mushrooms, carmelized onions. Better than Oklahoma Joes.
