Basically a debate over how freaked out people should be because in Soviet Russia the dog throws you and in Korea that's just called marinating.

Also there is Vantek.

Any thread where Vantek has almost 3 times as many posts as the next highest poster is not a thread I will be reading.

Close. Some troll is saying "why are you all getting so worked up? Way worse stuff goes on in the world".

Is there room in OOT FFL? Also when is the draft date?
08-31-2010 , 07:56 PM
Yeah theres room. No draft date set yet, I'm pretty easy with draft times, I have one at 6pm ET Sunday but could do one later or another day.

Now we've got 12 (I'm counting Claunchy and his gimmicks seperately) from here I can start a new thread. If a couple of other regs (I invited 'Chise, nath and Cardo) want in we can make it a 14 teamer, otherwise we'll stick with 12.

New thread

Any day where you need three showers is a pretty good day, yeah?
08-31-2010 , 11:15 PM
Depends on the reason.

If you needed them to wash off after being the center of a bukakke party.....not so good.

random resume question.

i am in upper management in the nonprofit world. i have had a couple situations recently where i needed to submit my resume for a seminar or something - not job hunt related. in the past i have always had a one or two sentence "objective" at the beginning cause well, probably cause the template i followed the first time i ever did a resume said to.

i was thinking of deleting the objective section and putting a one or two sentence "summary" instead.

also (two-parter!) how do people feel about a notable experiences or accomplishments heading before your listing of past jobs? i am at a point in my career where explaining some of the specific projects i've been involved in paints a much clearer picture of what i'm about than listing all my past jobs (many of which are kind of standard rungs on the ladder).

Those puppies are already dead. They'll never post in OOT again, don't worry.

Dids,

Those are good!

I did my best to **** up the puppy thread with my vitriol then leave. Cigars all around on a job well done!

I'm actually not that fussed about the cost because I can expense it. Just not sure where to start. Presumably there're international companies that specialise in specific routes though.

I've always done both of those things in the covering letter. I also make the less important/older jobs much shorter on the CV than the relevant ones to whatever I'm applying for. Obviously neither of these are much use for this, so I think it's fine to have a one/two paragraph summary at the top.

I want to hate you because I had to reopen that thread to see what you wrote and what other people wrote in response but then I realized that there are starving children in africa who have it way worse and ...**** it I'm drunk.

Delete the objective. I'm ambivalent about having a summary. I can see it being useful or annoying depending on how it's done.

Definitely keep the accomplishments ahead of job listings at your level of experience.

I can see that being a great thing if you're actually going to the matches, but I thought all of the fuss about them in broadcasts was hugely overblown.
