A digital recording can sound exactly like a vinyl record if they wanted it to. They don't because it doesn't sound better.

whoever thought this trailer didn't make it look like a horrible and formulaic b movie should be excommunicated

rick, it was the 90s. Trailers have sucked for most of cinema’s history. These days, you have entire companies designated to the creation of trailers, completely apart from the film’s production team.

And even now, they still biff trailers often by missing the film’s mark. But yeah, any trailer from the early 00’s backwards, is usually pretty cringe inducing.

You shouldn'tve done that. He's just a boy!

I sure do like the way you talk.

I do agree but at least in Baltimore there are quite a few bars that heavily promote vinyl music. Plenty of hipsters I know swear by vinyl.

They also prefer fixed gear bikes and I have never understood the appeal. I still have not heard one advantage a "fixie" has over a normal 10 speed bike for city riding. Or really any bike riding I can think of other than maybe those indoor track races.

A well pressed vinyl from an analog source is far superior to digital imo. Of course you need a system capable of letting it shine.

What is silly is the modern resurgence of new vinyl that is made from a digital source.

Imagined superiority of certain things, and pride in recognizing (read: imagining) that superiority, is the entire core concept of someone being a hipster.

Superior in what way?

I can very much imagine someone having a personal preference for vinyl, but there's zero chance the sound is as clear.

In what way is vinyl an advantage and how is digital limited so as to not reproduce whatever imagined sound quality you think it has?

I've always thought the idea that vinyl sounds better than digital formats is misguided and silly and overly hipsterish.

Naugahyde sounds even better than vinyl, but it takes a very special ear like mine to appreciate the subtle difference.

The problem with vinyl, is that people play the same songs over and over.

I have an original, 1st edition of Mason Proffit, Two Hangmen Hanging in a Tree.

It's completely f*cked.

Bro,

That just means you're hardcore into Mason Proffit. Mad respect. Bring that classic to Open Turntable Night and the crowd will be cutting the carpet!
