Probably the weirdest part of the "Larry, I'm on Duck Tales" sequence is Larry King asking Danny Pudi, "You're attracted to your socks?" because Pudi said he liked wearing really nice socks.

The Geezers Tour hit town again last night. This time the band was America. It was a really enjoyable show. Not much production value other than the music - just a bunch of guys playing songs really well. Of the original trio, only Dewey Bunnell was there. Apparently Gerry Beckley is still part of the group but doesn't tour (I'm not sure how that works). Of course, Dan Peek left the group in 1977 and died in 2011. The rest of the group on stage were "touring" members that had pretty accomplished resumes.

They did all of the hit songs from the '70s and early '80s. And while Bunnell's voice was a little weak, he hit all the notes and the harmonies were pretty tight. The song list was more or less in chronological order and he did some talking about what was going on at the time they recorded them. One thing I found interesting was him talking about when they were first starting and being an opening act of just three guys with guitars sitting on stools. And then the main act came out and it was Pink Floyd. Looking back he said that seemed kind of absurd for three kids just out of high school. All in all, it was a good time and I would do it again.

Next up is Styx in November. They were here last year and we're going again.

I love their entire catalog up until the later commercial attempts. Hairway to Steven is the tops!

Butthole Surfers are like the Harmony Korine of the Alternative Rock Scene.

If you haven't watched that video I posted, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's a pretty respectful biopic made for the "the only song you've ever heard from them is Pepper" crowd, but even fans seem to like it.

Also, it's the only place I know of with footage of them trashing Trent Reznor's trailer at Lollapolloza while NiN was away doing their set.
