Oh yeah, the classics are definitely top notch. Sergio Leone trilogy, Once Upon A Time In The West, Wild Bunch, etc. are all great cinema.

But, I think that a lot of people forget just how many mediocre westerns were filmed in that era (due to the success of the greats). Both film and television, there's a LOT of shitty westerns.
I think The Wild Bunch may be my favorite western.

thinking your effort is better spent getting a daily driver that at least doubles that mpg.
i understand it may be difficult finding a dealership that's willing to swap a used car for your bulldozer, but you should at least give it the ol' college try.

I find that "remake" is kinda hard to define though, considering both the age of the original and domestic/foreign market films. Like, The Thing (1982) is technically a remake of The Thing From Another World (1951), but I don't really think it counts. Same with Cronenberg's The Fly. At some point, a film departs so much from the original I'm not sure how to call it. The Departed is less a remake and more of straight rip from Infernal Affairs (for the record, I do prefer The Departed).

In the spirit of good humor, I nominate Ocean's Eleven.

Original Ocean’s Eleven way better.

Love Sergio Leone films, both Once Upon In The West and Once Upon A Time In America are arguably my favorite movies of all time. One Leone film, his last spaghetti western, Duck You Sucker, highly underrated.

It’s on YouTube in it’s entirety.

I wonder if someone has created a site that lets you input your number and then it creates a rewards account for every store in existence for you
I hesitate bringing this lingo back in here, but... this has gotta be a leak, right? Like, if you're spending time punching multiple random digits into a grocery self-checkout, aren't you better off:

- Just getting a rewards cards with a number you know, so you both reap the savings associated and don't waste time? Or,

- Use the widely-known number of 867-5309, so if you don't want to use a number you know for whatever reason, you still get the discount?

Even the option you mention - just telling the attendant to scan a card - is better than punching random numbers into the POS terminal!

was just out chipping golf balls with my cat in the backyard, and he was chasing them and trippin on it. then one he was chasing took a turn off the turf and hit him pretty good in the head. now hes afraid of them lol

jmakin, how's your golf game, mang?
08-05-2021 , 11:42 PM
I broke 90 at a pretty difficult course for me a few months ago but I’ve not been able to golf much this season due to my bad left knee. I was playing pretty well before, figured out my driver

Nice. Went to the range Wednesday. Might try to play today

I'm a big fan of Audie Murphy, but I recognize they are absolutely not even in the same ball park as the classics. But as bad as some of those are, those are still the ones that survived the era to still be being shown. I can't imagine how many just really bad westerns came out that no one has ever seen since

probably, but it's pretty infrequent, the situation only arises when I'm traveling somewhere so am at a store that I never go to, so I don't spend the time to fill out the card because I'll either never be back or only back a couple times so I don't care about any future rewards.

867-5309 would definitely be a better first guess than what I'd typically go with, but I never thought of it. It's probably what I will use next time this comes up.

Jealous you can play mid-week, weekend golf is the worst. 5-6 hour rounds almost always.

I got my driver from a weak ~200 yard slice to solid 250 yard draws and can fade on command now. Was pretty happy with my game before my knee went to **** (other than my putting, which is atrocious) and was striking the ball really well and got rid of most of my shank issues. But I just know when I come back from surgery I’m gonna have to relearn everything… hopefully it’s like riding a bike.

Almost all movies are terrible. Even ones that are successful in 10 years you look back and think "WTF?".

One of my favorite westerns was They Call Me Trinity. There was a series of them and the difference in quality from one to another was pretty drastic. They were hilarious. At least they were to a kid. I haven't seen any of them for many many years, so no telling how off my memory of them is.
08-06-2021 , 02:52 PM
My Name is Trinity may have been the best one. Kind of a long clip, but the quick draw still had me laughing out loud.

Tombstone is the best western AINEC

Probably the best performance of val kilmer’s career. Kurt russell was meh in it I guess, only negative thing I can say about it.
