I thought VJ was a self-starter.

I immediately saw that I missed the asterisks.

The feeling of regret that swept over me was like nothing I've felt before.

What's the biggest non-purchase regret you've ever made? A reverse buyer's remorse if you will.

Mine is clear as day: One time I saw a Dutch Oven buffet along the freeway on a multi-state trip.

Think of the possibilities!

My gf at the time just told me to keep on driving; no wonder we didn't work out. I still think about that buffet from time to time. Now for example.

When I first started dipping my toe into buying stocks, I was eyeing amazon, apple and ebay and only bought apple, which worked out well obv, but damn

I looked at a house to buy when I was 27/28ish that I have always regerted not buying. No HOA, great location, older house but with a recent remodel, stand-alone garage/shop, great yard. The galley-style kitchen really turned me off to the house, though and I ended up passing on it.

I finally bought a condo (for the same asking price!) a couple of years later (no regerts with that purchase, but wish I would have sold for nearly 2x my price before the bottom dropped out of the market in 2007 or 2008)(Also, I'm old)

And LOL at cooking. I barely do it.

Back in 2011, I first heard about bitcoin (pretty sure it was in OOT tbh). I remember discussing it with a colleague and arguing that it would inevitably end up in a deflationary spiral since production was going to be capped. I was planning on buying a $1000 worth, which I think was about 300 bitcoin at the time. He basically talked me out of it - I was a bit of an econ nerd, but he was a computer science nerd, and I thought he knew better than me. Would be worth $3 million now. I console myself with the fact that I would almost certainly have cashed them in way before now even if I had bought them.

I and a couple computer nerd colleagues watched IOmega stock rise daily and split like 4 times in less than a year, but we were all broke jokes.

Not talking to my grandparents more. They're still alive but it's a hassle.

I’m sitting next to Howard on a plane to DC.
08-02-2019 , 10:17 AM
Yesterday my flight home was scheduled to depart at 6:45pm. At about 2:00pm I get a text from the airline, and confirmed it through the app, that it was going to be delayed until 9:00pm because of delays on the incoming flight. No big deal.

My nephew was going to take me to the airport early for the 9:00 flight, but we decided to go out to eat first. We were just paying the bill at about 6:00 when I got a text saying, "Your flight will begin boarding at 6:20" followed by one that said, "Great News! Your flight is no on schedule". We were about 30 minutes from the airport.

We drove to the airport on the slim chance that the plane would be delayed again, and so I could talk directly to customer service if I needed to rebook. It was the only flight of the day to my home and I need to be in Phoenix today.

Checking the app as we were driving there showed delays in 15 minute increments. I rushed through security - thank god for Pre Check - and ran to the gate. They were holding the plane for me. I guess they knew they ****ed up when they sent the delay text and gave everyone a chance to get there.

It's a meaningless question. There is no such thing as a picture that hasn't been processed.

A helpful public bathroom tip:

Good title but it can't compete with HowardBeale's legendary Augustus Caesar Salad Days.
08-04-2019 , 10:51 AM
What I mean is, is there a way to tell just by looking at the image, or by checking pixel count etc?
08-04-2019 , 11:05 AM
No. There might be something embedded in the metadata. Depends on how the processing was done.
