Wow, I'm genuinely surprised AEKD didn't post this yet, as I thought this was kinda funny
I was in a home game with team domeski ppl in Athens yesterday, and driving over to Athens I was basically convinced we were all meeting the next day (Friday). So we all play until like 7am, i snooze until noon and meet with some other friends for lunch at the tgi fridays by the longhorn on peachtree at like 1. traffic was abysmal as one lane was closed all the way from st. phillips church to the cheyenne grill. i hate traffic. keep this in mind as you keep reading.
anyways, drive back to my place and by then its like 3:30ish, I chill for a while and after a while im thinking damn, i should prob try and head down to AEKD's place now huh? my knowledge of highways is lacking and I knew Peachtree was still jammed because a lane was closed, so I decide in my brilliance that 400 southbound couldnt be too packed on a Friday at 4pm. i mean, its going INTO the city, thats opposite right? whoops.
clayton pulls into 400 southbound from Lenox and faces a parking lot. ***. at this point, having driven from ATL to Athens and back and facing the hellhole that was the jam at the 85/316 connector, I decide I do not like driving in 90 degree heat stop n go traffic. so i park at lindbergh station and take marta to midtown, hoping that when im there i can call AEKD and be like "plz tell me u live somewhere near a MARTA station".
ring ring
"hey its clay"
"oh hey wassup"
"u live anywhere near a marta station?"
"clay, it's SATURDAY"
*clay is puzzled because it is clearly Friday and is wondering wtf AEKD is smoking*
"wait, well, okay, but... um. do you live anywhere near this section of Peachtree?"
"Clay, it's SATURDAY"
"huh?"
"we're meeting Saturday. tomorrow"
"......***"
lol's exchanged. i'm a huge idiot.
so i get back onto the marta train to go back up to lindbergh northbound, right? WRONG. 2 stops later and I realize I'm at Civic Center. ***. I COULD HAVE SWORN I TOOK NORTHBOUND. ATLANTA IS A JOKE.
So i get onto a real actual northbound train and the TRAIN IN FRONT IS BROKEN. it takes twice as long to get back to Lindbergh as it should have
but when I finally get into my truck I am able to get back to my apt in like 5 minutes (spectacularly, 400 north is quite speedy on a Friday afternoon. thank god)
*** atlanta traffic. im drinking vodka tomorrow. holla.
