I am new to the ticket brokering industry, although I have worked with many ticket brokers in the past since I'm a mileage broker (I buy credit cards rewards points from the brokers) so I gained a lot of exposure to an industry which clearly generates a ton of points from heavy spending.

I would like to get involved in this side of the business - I have a fair amount of capital to play with and was wondering if anyone would like to walk me through some basics in exchange for a % of profits?
Everybody has their own hustle. A huge chunk of my "fortune" came from stumbling across various things that no one was touching but that seems to have evened itself out as of late.

But keep in mind the opportunities are dwindling due to max pricing, mobile tickets, verified fan, geographic restrictions, etc.

The basics would be point of sale and how to list and price etc. As far as what to buy, if you have the capital, I could only recommend just start buying and see what makes you money.

Good luck. The artists and sports teams are basically already scalping the tickets themselves at the box office.

AmexOffers has issued $100 off $300 spend at TicketGalaxy.com. I have the offer across a few cards. Any advice on how to make some money using the offers(looking to buy and resell)?

It's tough. I've had just a pair of tickets for hockey I've resold for years now, made a consistent 10-15%.

Teams are getting much better at pricing, particularly for playoffs, so it's getting harder to really bank on it. You really need to be working at generating contacts who want to buy your tickets at a slight discount from TE/SH, so you can both avoid the service fees and create a win-win scenario. The fees are just brutal and with teams getting better at pricing, this is the best way to counter it.

I don't know if this is directed at me but I do have 33% off coupon. If I spend $300, I will only have to pay for $200, so any amount over $200 after I sell is profit. Seems like I should easily be able to make this worth my while but I guess I would be buying w/o any info. I don't need my tickets to go up in value, I just have to get face value.

Was in general but seems like a good risk.

Most of my season tickets sell the couple weeks before Christmas -- I have good seats (next to player bench) and people buy them for gifts, so I list the whole season immediately and make sure in early/mid December I'm competitive on similar seats around me for games Dec 25 onward.

Playoffs are a crap shoot. I angled my way into Devils stanley cup club tickets for game 5 before the series started vs the LA Kings, but then they went down 3 games to 1 in that series iirc and the market just bottomed out.

Going to B10 tourney at MSG. Assume that tickets get very marked down at the last minute as teams lose? They want 350 for a strip of tickets. MSU fan so not even planning on showing up until the 3rd day (assumes double-bye).

Anyone with conference tourney experience?

It's a struggle for sure, I guess keep in mind this is really tripping up the fans too, just look at any fan board during an intense onsale and they are getting the same errors and roadblocks power users.

So if you can get anything you might be able to still sell it.

I am about to pack it in, spending more and more on Insomniac, proxies etc only to burn inventory because I am getting beat down by auto pricing software by 2 cents until the tickets are worthless but can't get enough tickets to make stuff like Broker Genius, 1ticket etc worth the additional $700 or so a month of overhead.

Trying to buy two tickets to Derek Hough's performance May 31 at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. Venue web site says "sold out" naturally. Can someone recommend a reliable ticket broker for this quest? Please PM me if you prefer, or answer ITT if you prefer.
