Trying to catch up on answering the questions that matter.

How is your girlfriend able to live life at all and not lose her sanity with all this going on? I can't relate at all, but it sounds like a complete nightmare.
Answered the first 2 questions earlier. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I have no idea. I have no idea.

I too would have to think that further consultations with another expert or two would be a good idea. I wouldn't just one guy who seems to be so cool with this. Maybe his diagnosis is legit and he's the expert of all experts. But it's so weird and unusual (and some evidently believe is frequently not legit) that his opinion alone wouldn't be good enough for me.
Answered 1st paragraph earlier. I thought I answered 2nd paragraph earlier but I'll answer it here again: she's seen multiple groups of doctors and therapists over this.

Thanks.

Do you have to get them separate birthday/anniversary/christmas gifts?
No. Thank god.

If I may, what are the objectives of therapy in a situation like Michelle's? The don't really seem to be attempting to suppress the personalities, nor do they seem to be trying to tease out any new ones. Why does she go?
AFAIK, the main aim of her therapy is to work on her anxiety and stress issues. Integration, if such a thing exists, seems to be expected to work itself out in the process of dealing with these underlying things.

I've had this in a much much much smaller scale cause a girl I dated last year had some serious mental issues due to molestation when she was young. She was extremely self-destructive at times also, and crazy mood swings (no not like all women have) beyond anything. Also weird as hell with sex.
Seems like you are a good guy and I hope this gets where you want it
Sucks man. Thanks.

(slightly unrelated)I would guess on some level he doesn't want her or is scared to have her fully recover.
I really liked the question at the end of page 3 (Michaelson) about what happens if one of the personalities fundamentally disagrees with something important about your relationship or her life, what happens then?(doesn't want to get married, wants to see other people, only wants to sleep with girls, wants to break up, wants to start going to church etc etc.)
Answered this 2nd paragraph earlier. I'd be absolutely thrilled if/when things got back to normal. It seems really strange to me that anyone would think otherwise.

I would find it very weird to read all this stuff about myself + the reactions of others.
I wouldnt like it when, especially in the beginning, everyone is yelling "Dump her, shes insane".
Goodluck and you have a great attitude.
She knows how people are (especially on the Internet), so I don't think it gets to her too much.
Thanks.

It's been brought up, and we were told it wouldn't be of much use. From what I understand, it can be used to help bring out personalities that don't want to come to the forefront, but that seems to start going down the path of it being kind of forced and contrived to me.

Her parents probably would be the most upset about it for getting called out on their bull****. No one we know IRL has read it, but some poker people I know via the Internet have.

Answered this above, and I thought I'd answered it previously, but she's seen multiple groups of doctors and therapists over this.

I've considered it, but I'm afraid I'll screw her up worse than she is. Besides, I have plenty of true stuff to tell her that surprises her just as much, like a black guy getting elected president or that we're engaged, etc.

2) Do you think you should be prosecuted for sex with a minor if not why not?
1. I have no idea.
2. Answered similar in a previous post, but considering I didn't have sex with a minor, and I didn't have sex with anyone who didn't realize they were an adult, I can't see any merit to it.

Also, is most of the uncle's family aware that he molested Michelle and her mom?
"I never thought he'd do it to her" + "I didn't want to put her through [court stuff] when she'd already been through enough" = her standard response. She feels extremely bad about it.
No. <-- And one of the biggest things that pisses me off about the resulting situation.

That reminds me of another question, not really relating to myself but did she repress the memory of her uncle's abuse?
I have no idea. She's had dreams about the abuse though. I don't know if she repressed it, but there have been times when she has like flashbacks about some of it. I talked earlier about how she did this over a turn signal, I think. If I didn't, I'll tell that one later but I'm trying to run through these and get caught up.

The amnesia is almost certainly psychogenic, and not "real" in the sense of being neurologically caused. Temporary and complete retrograde amnesia (forgetting past events) like the one described by OP (and by cartoons and movies) almost never happens, mostly because of the way memories are stored in distributed patterns throughout the brain. It's quite common to lose the ability to form new memories from a neurological condition, but the way this amnesia is described is 100% psychogenic.
My goal and my hopes for the situation are for her to be eventually back to normal. What the chances are of that happening, I don't know.
From what I've read and also been told from a number of the people she's worked with, this kind of amnesia is common among people with psychogenic seizures.
Note to self, through post 375.
