interesting question.
when i was being honest w/ my self, late at night, probably 65/35 we would make it. when i was pumping myself up & telling everyone we were going 80/20.
in hind sight - true odds- 80/20 we make it.
if i go again 90/10 i make it. you have to figure what? maybe 5% you die randomly in the next year anyway?
wonder what the true odds of random death for a healthy man in his late 30's really are? anyone?
one of my deep down fears was always that we would die in some freak accident unrelated to sailing & everyone would look back & say " i knew it" or "he had no business going", " i knew he didn't know how to sail" etc.
