Ashley Judd is just crazy. Stuff like saying 'I want to be e-mailed about absolutely everything going on, I need to be in the loop' then 2 hours later saying 'I can't believe I'm getting so many e-mails, this is really stressing me out, please do not e-mail me for 2 days as I will be focusing on self-care.' Letters that would make Oski blush about the inadequacy of her driver or makeup person or whatever. Just a super-entitled whackjob.

Cusack ditto. Like he'd call his agent, she'd be in a meeting, the assistant would be like 'she's in a meeting.' Immediately with the yelling, 'WHEN IS SHE GETTING OUT THIS IS AN EMERGENCY.' Now you never tell anyone anything about your boss other than 'in a meeting,' so the assistant just says 'I don't know, I'll have her call you.' 'THEN TRANSFER ME TO ARI, JESUS CHRIST!' Ari doesn't even work for this guy, Cusack just knows he owns the agency. Anyway, rinse, repeat that every 2 minutes until he actually gets the agent on the phone. And it's for nonsense like 'page 78 of this script you sent me didn't print right and I can't read 2 of my lines.'

Fraser is just an unstable guy.

No. Basically never. They just 'reschedule.'

Ever see anyone stand up to their boss? Other similar dramabombs?

Sounds like an interesting job. I'd encourage you to post more specific anecdotes.

Details on the person who vouched for you and how they might have came to believe you were vouchforable?

Great thread!

do people in your office watch and/or like entourage?

I know for most TV shows the professions that they portray are often not huge fans (i.e. Police and law & order, FDNY and rescue me, lawyers, doctors, etc)

I've had a few friends who have been B or C list celebrities, and the impression I've gotten from speaking to them is that Hollywood is an extremely sexually free atmosphere. It seems like all the girls are sluts, all the guys are players, yet you hear so few real stories of people hooking up with randoms. Is it just because they hookup with other people in the industry so everyone stays quiet? Or am I getting the wrong impression?

The only real reason I ask is because I'm baffled that all of that goes on, yet it stays so quiet. Obviously you hear about celebrity on celebrity romance, but Ashton Kutcher ****ed that random blond chick and it's on the cover of People. Seems like that would happen ALL THE TIME, but it really doesn't.

Probably bc A list celebs usually have very good PR people to keep all that stuff from getting out. And unless it's adultery, I don't think America really cares that much if some single celebrity bangs a random.

I can sleep well at night knowing sandler, whalberg, and carell are chill. Can you answer me this: my friend and I were arguing about the need for accountants in show business. My friend kept assuring me the film studios and all the other companies associated (distributors, etc..) only need like 3 accountants.

So, is he correct? I always imagined that it is all accounting.

Your friend could not be more wrong. Accounting is a huge part of the business. Most people now are aware, but studios are notorious for crazy accounting practices where they loan themselves money at 20% and similar crap in order to claim movies aren't profitable such that they don't have to pay profit participants. Now everyone just knows 'net profits' means 'no money, ever,' and tries to negotiate something else. Cash break even, a multiple of negative cost, and box office bonuses are common.

And yes lots of celebrities have lots of sex with lots of people. But it's usually with each other so you don't hear about it that much.

Honesty, for Ari's assistants, it's not that far off.

do any of the cool big names, ever speak up for the assistants? i feel like if i was a huge A lister, i wouldn't want an agent that treated people like ****.

what is the biggest bonus/gift you or any of your coworkers received from bosses/clients?

were you expected to drive a really nice car even though you made $40k/year?

did any assistants ever crack and hit their boss with a chair or something?

did you get free tickets to **** a lot?

How does it work with Lakers tickets being given to clients? Do the assistants handle that? Are there tickets available to all agents to hook up whoever they want or are they only for the top guys and only given to the top clients?

I was going to start a new thread on this but figure i could get decent results by posting in here.

What are the best movies depicting what life is like working at a talent agency like WME.

Well the agency has the four floor seats right next to the Laker bench, and those are in pretty high demand. They are reserved for pretty big clients, like Sandler/Hugh Jackman/Matt Damon/Greg Daniels types. Yes, assistants handle them. Once an assistant ****ed up and like one hour before tipoff realized a ticket was unaccounted for, it was a big deal (they are like $3k per seat per game, maybe more).

The agency also has a box for every event at Staples center and it's pretty easy to get tickets in there. For basically anything other than Laker games, there are tons left over and assistants can often go for free. Open bar in there too, so it's nice.

Once there was some lame concert nobody cared about and my boss hooked up the janitor with 4 box seats, you'd have thought the dude won the lottery.
