My wife and I have been swinging for the last 6 months. What does that mean? We meet other couples/people and if we all like each other, we have sex with them. We've been together for 10 years and we love it. Before we started, I had a lot of misconceptions about it and this thread is meant to allow people to get an insight into what the lifestyle is about. It's not meant to be a list of sexual experiences. So I will not be going into great details about the sex. It's meant to be a resource for people who are curious about swinging to have their questions answered.

Is the sex always with couples at this point? if not, how often do you have 1 on 1 sex with your wife as opposed to with couples since you started swinging and how has swinging affected the sexual chemistry between you and your wife.

when I was like 12-13 yrs old I was at a sleepover with some dudes. So naturally when the parents had gone to bed the other dudes wanted to watch whatever softcore porn was on hbo. So we watch and its a documentary about swingers. They showed this group of like 10 couples and each and every one of them was a fat hairy old disgusting shmuck that you'd never ever want to see naked. It definitely scarred me for life.

I also saw a Louis Theroux doc a few years ago about swingers and the people looked exactly the same.

How did you and your wife decide to get into this? Whose idea was it?

Do you go to swingers clubs or meet other couples on the interwebs?

How much do you and your wife actually talk about the logistics? What I mean by that, do you talk about how the experience(s) is affecting your marriage, and if so, how is it affecting your marriage? Do you have kids, and if so how do you work around this (as I'm assuming you haven't told them and wouldn't want them to find out)?

No, my wife and I have regular sex with each other. I think swinging has made the sexual chemistry even better as we're much more open with each other regarding our desires and fantasies. We can also talk about things that our other partners may have done that was new and cool.

I would say that when I first went into it I imagined everyone being extremely sleazy and everyone being very much about sex. However, we've found that most people who are swingers are regular people. It could literally be almost anybody you know. Also it's been more about forming some new friendships for us and having fun.
