Why do you think you need a LLC to do this?

I wish I had known how to do that. Im paying off thousands in taxes from Uber earnings 8/14 through 3/15.

I'm planning to sign up for Lyft and probably Uber. Anyone have a referral code(especially if willing to kickback some of the bonus) I live in a good area for pickups and hopefully lots. I'll drive nights/weekends during surge and multi-app with a few food delivery apps & Taskrabbit, trying to figure out what's best in my market.

Based on this post, driving people around is probably not the best job choice for you

As someone who has given a combined 5k rides total through Uber and Lyft, I can confirm the "sitting up front solo" does actually happen. It is weird and annoying, for sure. Sit in your place, bitches. Your place is in the back, kinda thing.

What makes no sense is the people who sit in front and don't say a word the entire trip. But its whatever, not the biggest deal in the world and in the end you just drive them to their destination and let them out.

You might be on to something. Driving Doordash through neighborhood backroads, I almost cut a guy off turning left in front of him. I got to the intersection with stop sign first. He had a sign and a white line on his end, but didn’t stop. then I realized it was one of those careful for pedestrians signs in front of a crosswalk on his end and he didn’t have to stop. I did a point with raised eyebrows and confused look until I double checked and saw the different shape.

He only gave me a staredown instead of the full 180 middle finger. He also did not look like a low level drug dealer. And I realize I was wrong. So it didn’t piss me off.

Stuck in the front seat of a 2 door Nissan juke for a 20 minute ride. If I knew what a juke was I'd have canceled immediately. Then when he showed up I was too short on time to get a different driver. At least he isn't trying to make conversation. He has a 4.77 rating, I don't know if that is good or bad.

I hung at 4.77 for months, and was dishonorably discharged while having a 4.78.

Isn't the correct assumption that if there is not a "Four Way" or "All Way" sign under the stop sign the cross traffic does not stop? How do you have a drivers license?

Juke's have 4 doors, the back door handle is in the upper quadrant of the door near the roof.

i'm like 6'5-6'6" and broad so i pretty much always ask right away if i can sit up front if its any kind of compact car. never had anyone say anything about it really, although one lady had her purse there, so i just pulled the sit up manually and sat in the back.

most cars like mazda 3 types i cant even get into the back if the front seat is in normal position.

They treat anything other than a 5 star rating as a failure. And if you fall below the avg for your area you're gone. So ratings end up averaged at very close to 5 and the cutoff for getting booted ends up pretty high

Such a ridiculous system. So what rating are you supposed to give if the ride wasn't that great, but you don't want the guy to be fired?

When I first started in Seattle, it was literally my first time driving downtown Seattle, so naturally it wasn't that smooth.

About a week in I had a 4.55 rating, which, not knowing anything, seemed ok to me. I received an email that I was on the brink of deactivation as a result. Which would have been personally disastrous at the time.

So yeah anything but 5 star ratings is harmful. Really stupid way to do that.

What's a bad rating for a rider? I'm 4.93 over a few hundred rides. I blame any markdowns on my drunk obnoxious friends or having to take me to a remote area, where they won't any sort of return fare.

I got a 4.6 driver once and was pretty excited to see what that was all about and then spent five minutes being berated in broken english for not answering my phone. I didn't want to seem racist so I gave him a two instead of one.

I got a lot of rides in Colombia, and I guess the rating culture is really weird there and it's rare to give riders a 5, so now my rating is a 4.68 or so. Hopefully that doesn't impact my ability to get rides in the future in other places. So far it hasn't made a difference in Mexico City. There seems to be an insane amount of drivers here. I've never had to wait more than 3 minutes out of dozens of rides.

their rating system is so stupid. if a 5 is all that matters then it might as well just ask "was the driver/passenger acceptable yes or no"
Anyone here drive for Uber? Quote
03-20-2019 , 02:48 PM
Yes/no would be far superior. I don't care if my driver was "awesome." I'd like to get from A to B safely and comfortably. If that happens, we're good. If it doesn't, I want a refund. I don't care what you do with the driver either way.

How long before they add a 6 to distinguish the outstanding drivers from the crowd? And then how long after that before the new average is 5.9?
