Anybody know anything about this MLM thing? Anybody know anything about this MLM thing?

Ok, so on Facebook (at least in Canada) every 10th post seems to be about someone offering an opportunity to link into a webinar like the one below.

The names of people are different but the template is always the same. I am assuming it is a Multi-Level Marketing thing in which only those in early are making any money, and the folks at the end who are joining just feed those above them.

What I am curious about is I cant find anything about the "company" behind this on the net. One would think there would be lots of info out there either touting this particular opportunity or warning people away from it. Yet, the only thing I can find is more and more and more of the same ads, all using the exact same pitch and template. The only thing different are the people and contact info.

Why (and how) is there nothing out there about the organization behind this thing? Does the company have a way of making sure nothing is out there??

I clicked on one then tried to look up info, so I get why they keep popping up. My curiosity is why I cant find out anything about them. Go ahead and search some of the key words in the pitch. You will find lots of sites. I read the terms of reference and legal stuff but it doesn't even name a company.

Try seeing if it is scam... nothing. no testimonials about them.. no warnings. Unless you want to watch a webinar, they don't exist. And if you want to watch a webinar, you can chose from hundreds of people who have the same ads.

If you are truly unable to determine if this is a scam or not, it may be time to turn in your internet license before you hurt yourself or someone else.

They're probably a breeze in terms of making a pile of money without having any skills. Assuming you have shoddy ethics and no qualm with betraying an entire flow-chart of business references. Or friends and family.

My experience with MLM started my freshman year of college. A guy a bit older than me, wearing a suit, facing opposite sides of a table I usually ate Wendy's at:

- Is $300 a lot to you?
- I play poker with a buy-in of $200.
- So you could lose $300 in a weekend gambling and it's no big deal?
- Yup.

The fact that alarm bells didn't ring to the heavens after this is a reflection my level of dumbassery at age 18. Two other points stand out in my mind from my experience at Quixtar/Amway:

- Their regional group had two frontmen- a business guy, and a spiritual leader from a church: Pastor Dickie. His job was to promote Quixtar as a non scam.

- The guy that recruited me was someone I knew from childhood. I don't blame him at all, hopefully he made something from piling up his closet with energy drinks. Well, my parents received a letter from him after graduation advertising his money management services. Which made me laugh hard before advising them to trash it.

It's MLM so it's obviously not a sound job opportunity. They sell their product, energy drinks, vitamin pills, etc mainly to the 'employees' they recruit.

'How can you attest to the quality of this product if you've never tried it yourself?' They fill rooms, give webinars to groups of people looking for quick money making opportunities, sell the product to them and then make money off of the people they recruit.

If you dedicate a lot of time to it, create your own seminars, etc you could probably make a bit of money out of it, but it will be short-lived as the pyramid will crumble under it's own weight as people drop out/hear about the scam. Rinse, repeat.

You're better off getting a steady job and climbing the chain.

MLM self selects for people who could never be successful at it.

There is one girl I went to high school with though that is now a multi millionaire from that ****. From a super shady business model, she ended up starting her own company.

My question is not whether it is a scam, it is why I can't find any info about the company behind this. I mean if you cant find anything, or don't want to bother looking, that is cool. But read the post FFS before you start guessing about what I am looking to find out.

I just thought there might be some savy folks here who could dig something up on this company pretty easily.

lol... I make a post about a multi level marketing scam and people are telling me it is a multi level marketing scam.... and somehow feel they are enlightening me... lol

I'm just recently seeing physical advertisements around my neighbourhood about seminars for escaping the rat race and earning a lot of money without working hard. I doubt its this same scam but interesting.

It's almost like not having a job and getting a lot of money and not working for it is something people are willing to irrationally believe in for some reason.

I think 2p2 could probably come up with a viable mlm scheme. Just need to have the underling make the claims about the product or service so you aren’t liable at the top. If you’ve ever run into someone peddling alkaline water it’s easy to see how convincing these scams can be to the unwitting

The "live online workshop" is just a video of testimonials, at the end of it they ask you for $99 to sign up to their "team". It was made to look like a live conference but seems very phony.

We’ll be in at the top. Since the market on water is cornered, we should go with air. Maybe call it Paleo Air and sell bags of it and for the members that want to become distributors they can make it with our $5000 machine fine tuned by master craftsmen at hq
