Applegate was great. I hope she's back, but I have no idea what she looks like anymore. I hope time hasn't made her face look like one of Ron's leatherbound books. She won't be easy to replace imo.

She's in that "Up All Night" show that's currently (or was recently) airing. I've seen a few episodes.

I think she's had some work done and it's starting to show a little bit, but she still looks pretty good for her age.

But her role in Anchorman is more about comic timing than bombshell looks, so I think she would do great in a sequel, almost regardless of how she looks. In fact, if she looked awful, they could write that into the story and make it pretty funny (if she were willing to be that self-deprecating).

SC - I think if you could find an elite level comedic female actress, and she's hot, it would add a maybe needed freshness to a sequel. I think this is very difficult to do, but possibly Brie's up to the task. She's actually got imo great comedic timing. (Though not as good as Applegate.)

I think Kunis and Zooey would be great as well and both are decent comedic actresses from what ive seen.

Applegate doesn't look that good anymore...esp after her breast cancer biz.

Anchorman is not one of my fav comedies, (Ive actually only seen it once, and definitely need to see it again) but I'm pretty positive it belongs on the top 10 of the last decade, off the top of my head I'm thinking in no particular order, Super Troopers, Knocked Up, SuperBad, Wedding Crashers, Hangover, Old School, Borat, and....I'm drawing a blank for others (I love Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but I'm not sure if it's in the same league) anyway, what a great troll by the Punch Drunk Love is a comedy poster. Good work.

this is obv awesome news, even though it has zero chance of living up to expectations.

i remember when i first saw anchorman. the next day i told a coworker that not only is it amazing, but its better than old school. i was, of course, immediately laughed at and mocked endlessly. at that time anchorman had just come out and old school was thought of as hugely epic. idk, i guess i just saw the brilliance in it from day one. fast forward however long its been and id say i got that one right. that was a crazy thought at the time though. perhaps the only time ive ever been ahead of the curve on anything lol.

Based on your list I'm assuming one you are forgetting is Step Brothers.
