6 miles away from neighbor and 30 miles to town sounds more like off the grid.

That said, does your neighbor a 1/4 mile away have utilities?

LOL. It's entirely possible I posted this in the wrong place. I'm not evading taxes or society.

I dunno, he's Amish. But they're available.

Funny. I haven't spent much time on 2+2 in the last year. It's been more on the Mother Earth News side. ... it never occurred to me someone would look at this and think "that's not off the grid." Gotta be audience.

There's tons of hippies around. They don't mind.

Why do you refuse to use them? How many times do you bath per month on average?

Sapo,

Do you see yourself likely disconnecting even more from "regular" society over time?

Do you have a gnarly beard and/or dreadlocks?

I don't really know. I enjoy what I'm doing. Initially it just seemed like the easiest and cheapest and most fun thing.

Showering, dunno. Once a week.

Nope. I don't consider myself particularly disconnected now. And maybe that's a part of the "audience" thing I mentioned. Seems like I forgot what 2+2 thinks is off the grid isn't what I'd exactly call it now. Some people would say sustainable or hippie or green, except I'm not, particularly.

Maybe I just go camping full time. ... But I've worked remotely for years and freelanced for a while, so at this point my level of interaction seems set. I like people.

I have been growing a beard lately. It's not gnarly.

In regards to the whole showering/bathing thing, do you not have a storage tank for rain water?

What are the next major purchases you plan for your place?

Seems incredibly cheap for the land and the cabin, is there much market for after sale of a place like this?

I haven't set up a rain collection system yet. I thought I would get all this done in the summer and then the weather is perfect and I got lazy.

Secondary sales of tiny homes and prefab cabins ... probably not, because in addition to wear you'd have to move it. Unless you mean with the site, in which case sure.

It was about $3,000/acre. That's not expensive but you can definitely do cheaper. The location I'm in is pretty great.
