Re: AMA about being a bartender in Las Vegas

One of the girls from earlier had me at the bar. She just needed to get drunk enough to cheat on her man. Drunk and gambling at our spot and her man's buddy shows up. What are you guys doing here? We just got off work. Some other people were supposed to meet us. We were the only ones who showed. It's his birthday. It's his ****ing birthday. He isn't going anywhere.

I can't even look at her. We're already drunk but have to let it play out. So sick now thinking about it. Just busted. Flat busted. I wanted to cash it in so bad.

I order another shot and she waves the bartender off. i go to put another twenty into the machine and she puts her hand over mine. Stop drinking and gambling. Take me out to your car and **** me.

That hand over mine.

****.

Re: AMA about being a bartender in Las Vegas

Life is fleeting.

You sit in the water waiting. This wave has been rolling towards you. From a thousand miles away. And here it is. It's your wave. You're either strong enough to catch it or weak enough to let it pass you by.

It has an energy of it's own.

Give into it.

Let it take you where it takes you. Ride it with style. Style is all you have. Just the pen. You write your own life. Every thought. every action. It's up to you.

Those waves. All of that energy rolling across the ocean. They wind up crashing on the shore. Forgotten. Just another wave.

But, this is your wave. What will you choose to do with it?

I've been humping the meaning of life for a long time. I thought the question was, "What is the meaning of life?" As if I were asking it. Life asks us, "What would you do with this thing?"

Now, that you have this thing. What will you do with it?

I'm going to drink this last beer and stare at the sky. I'm going to watch these storm clouds roll past the palm trees. Lit up by the Vegas lights. I'm going to pen this.

I guess it's time to get sober.

Thanks guys!

When did the AMA being a bartender in Vegas thread turn into a creative writing blog?

It's the OP's thread: he can do what he likes with it. The bartending stories are entertaining, so give the man a little leeway, especially when he has laid back a few, or perhaps a few too many!

Why do people ask for Red Bull vodkas and cranberry vodkas? People don't say coke whisky or pineapple and rum. I'm a bartender myself and I've always wondered this. It tilts me for some reason.

Doesn't that mean they want a Red Bull with the house vodka?

it's implied but their phrasing indicates red bull brand vodka and cranberry flavored vodka.

There aren't many things that you can do to a man that are worse than serving him a Corona, so I suspect that was revenge enough.

I get out of control. I want to write. I get drunk. I write here.

Some lines have moxie.

Thank you. I've been hitting it too hard as of late.

Yes and thank you. I know I'm hitting on something here (besides a Q&A). I don't know what it is. I don't know what to do with it. Being wasted all the time doesn't help.

I want to write but getting drunk out of my mind every night, losing all of my money gambling, and then writing about it on an internet forum isn't sustainable.

It's 11pm and I have two beers and eight smokes left. I'm broke. I guess I could start robbing gas stations?

So funny with the Watts. I tried to get sober. I spent a whole day in bed reading his stuff and listening to his lectures. I want to connect with my life in that way. Sober. Centered. Focused. Creative.

How gracefully will you let go of that which does not belong to you?

That's a ****ing line. I want to write **** like that.

It's out of my scope right now. All I want to do is get drunk and ****.

Re: AMA about being a bartender in Las Vegas

I worked with her. Her first night on grave yard. She's twenty three. Her head is up her ass. Relax. We're going to have fun. We're going to make money. I'm the greatest bartender in the world. I am legend in this town. We're going to have fun.

Two weeks later. Hey! When are you done? Five? We should have a drink. We should. We should.

We hit up a bar on property. Just a drink. Just for fun. Two bartenders. They're looking at me. They're my ****ing dad. My old man in the flesh. What are you doing BA? What are you doing? What am I doing? Nothing. Drinks after work with a coworker. She starts blowing her beer bottle. The bottle is on the bar. She's holding it. She has her head lowered to it and she's running her tongue around the top. ****. What am I doing? I take a drag. I drink my shot. I'm waiting for something smart to happen inside my brain. Nothing happens. I finish my beer. Time to go.

We're at my spot now. Just drinking. Just gambling and having fun talking. It's too crowded. Let's play pool. The pool room is off from the rest of the bar. We start playing. I'm drunk. She's not there. I get two shots and come back. She hopes I'm not taking this all too seriously. Look, let's just have some fun. Let me pretend like you're my girlfriend just for tonight. I can pretend like you're my boyfriend? Yes. She takes a cigarette out of my pack. She lights it with my lighter. She takes a drag and downs her shot.

She's bent over the pool table and this white thong. This white thong. This is just out. While she is bent over. Drunk now. Drunk. I've been here before. This is the test. Can you war past this. Can you fight past this confusion. It is here. I can.

I muster. Are you wearing a thong? Oh, yeah. She undoes her jeans and slides them down past her ass. Tan separated by white. My air is gone. My heart is gone. I can feel my rib cage digging into my intestines. I grit my teeth. I inhale through my nose. I try to look sober. I sit back and take a pull off of my beer. Do you like it?

Yes. Yes I do.

We're making out in the corner. I'm sliding my hands down the back of her jeans and I'm understanding that this ass belongs to another man. She's soaking it up. Too much. I pause for one second. Less than one second. Just a blip. She feels it. Are we going to **** or what? Her phone is ringing. She takes the call. I can follow the conversation.

We're out in my car. We're in the back seat and she is just riding me. Just pounding on me. I'm outside of myself. I can't believe it's still there to ride. She's outside the car collecting herself. She shuts the door. A car has pulled up.

It's her man and three other dudes. My pants are around my ankles. I sink down into the backseat away from the street lights. I hear the conversation. She was just about to leave. I grit my teeth again. Don't go black here. You might have a fight on your hands. Can I go back please. Just four hours. Let me take this back.

They leave. I collapse. Everything goes away.

The sun is up. Metro is talking to me through the window. He's grinning at me. Sir, I'm going to need you to exit your vehicle. He's opening my rear passenger door. Don't reach for your pants. Just step out of the vehicle.

I catch my eyes in the rear view mirror.

Re: AMA about being a bartender in Las Vegas

*****, Sketches Of Spain.

My boy had a birthday party at his crib. Two couples and him. He really only had two friends. Me and the other guy. We brought our girls. My girl and I got bored and ****ed in the bathroom. We got bored again and ****ed on the couch in front of the other couple. Everything died down and they went to bed. I'm still awake. Can't let it go. I'm pouring through this huge CD collection. Miles davis. I always pretended like like i KNEW who he was.

Sketches of spain. My girl is asleep and i'm left there alone.

i'm laying there naked with this thick honey under a small blanket

i'm going to drink the rest of her wine and listen to that **** again
