They certainly can be a battle. The one time I served on a jury was for a low 7 figure med mal case that was a week long. We deliberated for 6 hours and the last 4 1/2 hours were spent convincing the last 2 holdouts that you can't just give a plaintiff a million and a half dollars because they are hurt, there has to be negligence on the part of the defendant, and the plaintiff hadn't provided any proof of said negligence, and unless those 2 holdouts could find something that did prove it, they didn't really have a leg to stand on. None of them could find a single reason other than, "but he's hurt!".

These 2 were selected during voir dire by the plaintiff's attorney, and in hindsight I can completely see why with the type of person they were, and the fact they went with their feelings vs. logic. If people like them were placed on the Murdaugh murder trial, things could have went sideways fast. I guess the prosecution can pat themselves on the back for not letting that happen.

I've been thinking about this more and more and really wonder if at least one of the 2 jurors who switched so fast to guilty just said **** it.....we've been here double the amount of time for this trial that we were told early and if we resist a guilty verdict in the jury we could be here another week so let's just go home.

They certainly didn't spend enough time deliberating. At least stretch it to the next day for show to make it seem that you thought about it.

Also, right before the jury got the case, the judge booted one of the jurors and replaced her with 1 of 2 remaining alternates, random draw.

The juror was running her about with people about her opinion on the case, we don't know which way she swung, but if she was not guilty that could have changed a lot.

I am surprised that judge didn't punish her at all and just made jokes about her dozen hard boiled eggs she had and let her go.

And the saga continues. 8 years later, they are about to exhume the body of Stephen Smith, they rule it a homicide now. It should have been ruled that back then, it was set up as accident roadside with a car hitting him but evidence didn't support that.

He is allegedly Buster's secret gay lover, time for Buster to join his dad in prison.

If I'm Buster and I didn't do it I'm sweating other people maybe in the know say I'm an easy out right now and they finger me for it. Could happen.

From what I've seen Alex Murdaugh is likely to get a new trial and the clerk of court(stone cold idiot) could very well go to jail over this.

Two jurors have signed affidavits saying she did all that was accused and one other said she did but hasn't signed the affidavit. What will likely happen is there will be a hearing where the jurors will testify to what they were told.

This is going to be an absolute show. It looks like Hill assumed that a guilty verdict would help her book sales more than a non-guilty verdict. And they also say she gave the Judge false info to get the juror who seemed to be pro-Murdoch thrown off the jury,

Yep, pretty likely new trial coming. Pretty damming evidence of jury tampering.

I like the part about not giving them smoke breaks until they reached a verdict, WOW. lol

Murdaugh Murders 2-part movie on Lifetime this Saturday and Sunday. Might be good with Bill Pullman as Alex.

Seems like a fair reason to have a problem with someone.

Evidentiary Hearing today about the clerk of court Becky Hill that was accused of influencing the jury.

1 of the jurors said her statements influenced their decision today under oath.

Hill took the stand today also and have fishy answers. Her book deal making 100k was motive.

It looked like judge was going to say new trial but ended up saying new trial denied.
