I really dislike Bill Simmons... but even he is ok with Carolla.

It's incredible I think there is only one bad podcast and that was the Jamie Kennedy one. It's amazing how he can carry seemingly mediocre guests and how certain relatively high profile guests create mediocre podcasts. A good example of this was the podcast with the gay couple from the amazing race, that I thought would be terrible, but ended up being one of the better ones.

I love the podcast. I listen to them on my way home, and it makes the traffic a little more bearable.

It helps to be on multiple times. The gay guys were regulars on his radio show.

No love for the Bobcat Goldthwait one? Really? They had me holding my sides a few times.

Now for my "Welcome to the 1990's" question: how do I download these? Whenever I click on one of the podcasts, a new window opens, and Quicktime player plays it. Dammit, I don't want to play it, I want to DL it.

(If I get docked a few OOT points for such a 'tard question, I understand.)

DL iTunes, search him under podcasts, then click "Get"

Or don't use itunes because Apple is terrible.

I use Zune software.. you can get link off his website.

I've liked every single one.
The easiest way to download a podcast is to subscribe to it, otherwise don't double click on it in itunes, click "get episode." Alternatively, do as I do with an itouch/iphone and download them on your wifi by tapping "download."

Right click and "Save Link As".

I've listened to all his podcasts so far and I thought the funniest moment was when he was talking about his movie idea with Shia LaBeouf casted as the poverty-stricken tough-guy going to an all gay school. And falling in love with Dakota Fanning who's disguised as a guy.

Man I love this. Personally I like the one with Wendell Middlebrook a lot. I also enjoyed the Simmons and Kimmel ones.

I'm not listening to the Dameshek one because he's unbearable (both him and his voice on its own).

If you like his movie pitch listen to Bill Simmons' 2/20 podcast. This is what originally turned me on to Carolla. The movie pitch Pedif-isle is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

I listen to this on a daily basis. I know nothing about producing a podcast but I wonder if it really costs 5k a month to make this show...

another faithful listener here.

Only really bad one was doug benson, who was so high that he couldn't put a thought together.

Hate 50% of the intro they are using. good voice, but the words need improvement. also hate the "get it on" shtick.

Can anyone tell me why the "subscribe" and "get episode" buttons are grayed out in my itunes?

I can get to the AC podcast page and see all the choices, but I can never actually select anything.

Thanks

Most of the 5k per month is hosting the podcast on the internets.

he should just charge 1$ for the first episode of every month or something, he could get atleast 5k hits by the end of the month

You must have missed it, be he contractually cannot make any cash off the podcasts in 2009 or he stops receiving checks from CBS (they are paying out his contract even though they didn't legally have to AFAIK). So, he's footing the $5K/month bill right now to keep an audience around for when CBS stops paying him and he can start cashing in on podcasts.
