I've listened to to last few weeks of shows and have been working my way through the archives. Here are some of my thoughts:

Adam should get a real cohost and tell Donny only to speak when spoken to. He was kind of amusing at first, but he gets annoying when he interupts the conversation with some totally unrelated question or comment. Like they'll be talking about cars and he'll something like, "I'm not saying it's aliens, but there's definitely something going on at Area 51."

It seems like having on two guests is ideal unless the guy is a great talker or story teller. Adam carries the whole show a lot of the time and it seems a little awkward.

A lot of people they talked about a few months ago died unexpectedly (MJ, Ed McMahon, Billy Mays)

I think it's possible I'm extra-sensitive to things because I'll listen to 3 or 4 podcasts in a row.

I listened to a bunch of episodes last week and Adam recommended some documentaries. I don't remember which episode it was in and don't want to re-watch them all, so can anyone who remembers his suggestions post them here? The only one I remember was 'Staircase'.

Yeah, the name was familiar but I forgot what she looked like. She looks hot as **** at AdamCarolla.com.

It was funny, I looked up her book on Amazon and the first 3 reviews are 1 star with 2 titled Atrocious and Crapped.

Adam and Jules talking about Oceans 13 was pretty hilarious.

He recommended "Bigger, Stronger, Faster" which is very entertaining.

it was the podcast with david cross.

the fact that adam had cross on the podcast shows how bad adam wants to make the podcast a big part of his career. lets face it, cross is not a carolla type person, but i think cross picked up on that right away and did his best (along with adam) to make the conversation seem like they are on the same page comedically.

suprisingly, adam seems to get his guests to open up and give relatively intimate personal details. which i dont understand, because adam is no barbara walters.

he's not really supposed to be. It's kind of like he once put it during the radio show during a "how say you" segment. 'it's not really how say you. it's more like shut the **** up, how say adam.' the guests are really just platforms for adam to exercise his unparalleled comedic abilities. any guest who actually dominates the conversation = weak episode (i.e. scott monty, francis ford coppola).

I thought Jules came off like a bitch. Talking about how she didnt want to have kids. Very selfish-sounding to me.....

SUSPICION of DUI. They brought him into the station, gave him a Breathalyzer, and he claims that he blew a "zero, point zero".

Who said he was randomly swerving?

On the show, while dodging questions "on the advice of counsel", he mentioned that he's on anti-depressants. I don't know if/how they impair your driving abilities, but it must be relevant, as he felt shame in admitting he was taking them (and laughed that he felt no shame in admitting in the past that he regularly used heroin), but mentioned it any way when the DUI was discussed.

varying anti-depressants can make you drowsy. They can also magnify the effects of alcohol.

all im saying is that there was most likely a reason the cops pulled him over; for instance drving erratically/speeding/swerving etc.

Did you know that there was an accident? Artie rear-ended somebody who had stopped in the middle of the street to make a left turn.

I don't know if the police were called, or if they happened by, but he was not "pulled over" for any of the reasons you suggest.

(Artie notes that the two young men in the car he hit insisted that they were "not close to being hurt", and that the collision was so low-speed that the damage was extremely minimal. The other thing he didn't feel shy about commenting on was the fact that 14 minutes after he was arrested, the story was on TMZ.)

I don't know why we're discussing Artie here, and not the Stern thread, but since we are, you guys might be interested to learn that Andrea, aka "Miss Howard Stern", got in a horrible car accident. She left a bar, and drove her convertible into a telephone pole at 60 mph. She wasn't wearing a seat belt, of course. She was ejected, and landed on her head on the pavement, shattering her skull. She ended up with a steel plate in her head after six hours of surgery. Doctors gave her a 2% chance to survive, but now she's expected to make a full recovery. Her head hurts like hell, but other than that, she's doing great.
