Fwiw chainsaw pants, or chaps, work by using the inner fabric to instantly clog the chain and sprocket bringing the saw to an abrupt stop. The pants are made with an inner layer of parallel, thin, loose polyester threads. I don' think you could cut yourself with a chainsaw thru the pants if you tried.

Denim pants alone will probably eventually stop the saw but not right away. I've cut into both denim pants and chainsaw chaps accidentally. The moment I nicked chainsaw pants the saw came to a stop. I'd expect the denim to eventually clog the saw but I'll bet you'd get at least 1/2 way thru your leg before it stopped.

years ago father in law was up on the back part of their property clearing deadfall with a chainsaw
while getting after a particular branch the saw rebounded towards his face. he was able to stop the saw just before it parted his cranium, but one or two teeth grazed his forehead after stopping and opened up a superficial wound in the thin skin similar to when you cut yourself shaving.
with his face covered in sweat, dirt, and sawdust; and the nick on his forehead resulting in blood freely dripping down his face, FIL made his way back to the house for lunch because he was hungry and ready to eat, not realizing he looked like a walking crime scene.

chainsaw is a terrible tool for dismembering bodies. It sprays DNA everywhere so your clean room game has zero room for error. You'll never be able to clean it thoroughly enough and it's a hell of a lot harder to dispose of a chainsaw than a more appropriate tool.

Also, if you are cutting through bone you are doing it wrong, you sever between the bones where it's all soft tissue.
