It really is a coinflip to let an 80 year old guy lug 1 ton of rocks off your property rather than crucible him.

I'm pretty sure the old man didn't lift a rock during the heist. Had the kid been around during the return I very well might have gotten more than 10 rocks back.

Oh one more thought. The old man could be grumpy and stubborn because that's what some guys get, and maybe is nonnegotiable. In that case id be the bigger man and let him have it. And steal rocks from the next reservoire. Don't know where you live, is there a canyon nearby or some waterfalls? There would be rocks.

Stealing rocks to replace rocks that were stolen from me never even crossed my mind. I hope that boy is available to help.

You said he has a huge family right?
Like Gandhi said: if you can't fight them, join them!
Make a huge heist with all his grandsons as the workhorses and steal some real rocks (marble etc)
Bam, problem solved. Win/win. There you go! You gotta sell it to them though.

Pops come and try to snatch my rocks.

Tell him, "Don't try it. I'll jack that ass like a looter in a riot."

Yup one day old lady is going to invite captain over for tea and going to mix in homemade cyanide from grinded up cherry pits.

Damn rednecks messing in hillbilly territory.

They're actually Texans w/ vacation homes here on the lake. The first two years I was here the old man was only here during the summer and then he decided to retire here full time.

Have you ever thought what he does with all those rocks? A ton you said? lol
What the heck does he want with it? Have you ever thought that this might be his schtick? To take from nature because he thinks god put it there for him?
I mean there is unhabitated land and habited. Some peops think its all theirs nature is for anyone. In fact I have a few friends that think like that somehow.
I have to admit there is some cool rocks, rocks that travel for thousands of miles in a river etc. I talked with a few friends about taking some of these 120 pound ones, the round much traveled ones. I mean we knew its not allowed but what the heck. Who didnt steal an apple from the neighbours?

Well anyways that might be his schtick, to take from nature and do something with it, its free afterall mostly. Maybe thats why hes so rich. He could be your father agewise Im assuming. And admitevly what else is he supposed to do out there? I think its pretty cool that he goes around and "steals" stones. It just happened to be on your land. Oh well. There is worse I would say. Taking some stones with the help of some helping hands sounds nice afterall.

Alright Im calling it quits, no more grinding tonight. Its 6am here. Good night fellas.

Have you considered ordering three tons of rocks and having them delivered onto his driveway?

It seems to me that in the end there will be only one option for the development of events - to sue the sheriff and charge the sheriff with illegal entry and theft.

I could picture OP laying out spikes, forgetting about it and running it over himself. That or somehow someone like the FedEx delivery guy running over it or someone else accidentally running over it and it becoming an issue.
haha nice. Yeah, that's why it would have to be remote controlled or something so you don't spike the cops when they come to ask you about the spikes in the road the neighbor called them about

Some people like the old man need to learn in different ways. what happens to them they wont feel anything, but something precious to them might.

When my great grandfather was 98, he was senile as can be. Many days, he couldn't remember his wife's name to whom he was married 77 years. However, when he would ride around with me on a pickup truck on logging roads, he could unerringly point out the exact intersection of his various properties in the middle of the woods. I would put the chance the guy didn't know he was on your property somewhere around 0.00001%

taking their clothes off first, taking your clothes off first, or both?

I was told that removing the dead person's clothing is crucial. Otherwise the chainsaw chokes down on the clothing and is unable to perform its assigned job which leaves the operator(s) in a bit of a pickle.

i'm trying to understand the particulars of other levels. not to use them myself in any way, but to wow the crowds at future cocktail parties with my morbid knowledge.
