anyone has experience quitting their big telco in canada and setting up on a cheap data only plan and moving their mobile # to a cheap voip service? Makes no sense for me to pay 65$ a month for 4-5 phone calls a month and 1-2 voicemails better off to buyout.

Is S4 really such a lego or I just got unlucky?
Dropped it on the floor by accident (20cm drop) and the screen looks like a rainbow now.
About a year ago I forgot iphone 5 on top of my car, started driving and it crashed on the road+I drove over it and nothing happened, only some scratches at the back. The screen even had tire marks on it. (dust)

My S3 is super durable, I've abused the hell out of this thing with no case and there's literally one scratch on the screen (the frame is kinda beat though in some spots). Barring a huge downgrade in quality from 3 to 4, unlucky?

Probably just pure chance. Samsung makes their phones as durable as anyone, I bounced my Note 2 on concrete numerous times, but if it falls just right you are going to shatter the screen no problem.

I love beyond pod. They were doing a special a few months back when the paid version was like $3. Every day at 12:30 all of my feeds update and download new episodes to the SD. Great interface, and pretty good customizable widgets to put on your home screen.

Quick question: looking at getting another galaxy after my plan with my S2 finishes, should I get the s3 for $0 per month or pay the $5 per month handset repayment for the s4?

It seems like my Twitter app on my phone is really bad at syncing with how updating I am in general. I often find myself scrolling up past hundreds of tweets after spending time on my computer instead of reading them on the phone. I use the standard Twitter app. Am I doing something wrong, or does this app suck, or what? Thanks.

New job and they will pay for my cell phone. My straighttalk plan expires perfectly on 2/1. Can I easily move an unlocked phone to ATT? Believe it or not I'm having trouble googling for an answer although I suspect the answer is a simple yes.

$5/month seems like a no brainer to have the newer version. Pretty nice to only have to pay $120 for the phone over 2 years.

Yeah I'd get the S4 over the S3 for sure when it's only a $120 difference over 2 years. The S3 is still a decent phone, but it's finally starting to show its age.

S4 is basically the same size in hand but has a larger screen with better resolution, better camera, is overall slightly faster, has a longer battery life, and will get Android updates going forward while the S3 won't.

you can use http://tweetmarker.net/ and a browser extension (for mac or pc) to sync. but the app on your phone must support it. i assume (but don't know) that the official twitter app does not. but falcon pro (probably best android twitter app) does (but it reached the twitter user limit, so it's a little difficult to set it up), as well as tweetcaster and plume. just have a look at their website and see if you find a solution that works for you.

My wife has a previous generation Jawbone Era, she loves it. I could hear road noise with headsets she used before but I can't hear any with the Jawbone.

They just came out with an updated version this week.

Aren't S4s like 50 bucks on contract now?

Really liking CloudMagic email app (which seems to be entirely free, somehow):

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...loudmagic.mail

Ive disliked the GMail since the last update (prettier, but worse workflow) and the built in email (and others I tried like K9) sucked a lot for getting my Exchange based university email but CM so far has worked extremely well. Seems to support every type of email anyone uses and also yahoo which no one does. Supports the label stuff in GMail, though that can get a bit fiddly to use if you use a bunch of accounts with a bunch of labels - but as far as a work in progress goes the app is really solid.

You can also set up an account with them so you can sign in on multiple devices without needing to log into all your email accounts - which is probably a huge security risk and a bad thing for most to use, but it may have value for some.

Only big negative I have found is that there is no Dashclock extension, but they have been planning to create one for at least a couple of weeks and will happen eventually.

I just use the stock browser to view 2+2, and it automatically displays the Mobile skin, which makes things easier/faster to read for me. If I want to view polls, avatars, etc, I just check the "Request desktop site" option, which displays the full site like a computer would. It has worked fine this way for years.

However, this past week, 2+2 started displaying as a full desktop skin all the time. No other sites were affected, and they would display the Mobile view unless I checked the option to view the desktop site, like normal. 2+2 would not go back to Mobile though. I eventually changed my 2+2 options to Mobi skin only, but now when I check the option to view the desktop site, it still remains Mobile view, and I cannot view polls, avatars, etc.

Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a fix for it?
I had the same problem. I posted in atf about it. I changed it to mobi and when I want the desktop version for polls or whatever I have to go back to my options and change it back. Huge pain. The request desktop option was clutch. Hopefully, they figure a way to get that back.

This app is finally on android and iOS, its an alarm that plays sexy women's voices. A lot better than the siren I used to have.

I dunno, I was just going off of his pricing. It's definitely worth it at only $50, but even at $120 more than an S3 (or whatever), I'd still do it personally.

Just got a new s4 today. It was 199 with a mail in rebate for 199. 2 year contract from verizon. So essentially free.

Yeah, thx, I eventually found your post and others in ATF, and then re-posted Mat's answer here, that they got rid of auto mobile detection.

Since they got rid of it, it's probably not ever coming back, unless there's some huge demand for it in the future. Strange that their reason was that some new devices weren't supporting it, since most phones auto recognize mobile, and the larger ones that don't are large enough to just view desktop site normally anyway. IANAP though, and I don't know how every phone works, so maybe it's legit.

You are right that changing your options is a huge PITA. For now, I'm just using Mobi skin, and when I want to view a poll/whatever, I open a new incognito tab with that page, and it will show as a desktop skin. To actually vote or use other advanced features while logged in though, you still have to change your options, which sucks.

Thanks to those who put in for the S3 vs S4 debate. For the record, my plan options are either $60 for the s3 or $65 for the s4. I did a little research myself and it was quite apparent that the s4 beats the s3 in every aspect apart from storage. The decision btw is S4. I'll pick it up tomorrow.
