The updated Google News and Weather app is nice.
i use Nova on an N5 and its set up to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access google now.

alright I'll be forever grateful to whoever can solve this...

so my galaxy s4's wifi stopped working. as in, i press it in the pull down menu, it stays light green for a few moments and then goes gray. i recently noticed my bluetooth does the same thing. i tried every fix that i could find. factory data reset, a couple at&t tech solutions, turning wifi power saving off, etc. nothing worked so i figured the adapters in the phone are dead.

today i reboot my phone randomly for the heck of it and it reboots with wifi on and bluetooth on. phone stays on for a bit then locks up and forces me to do a battery pull. WTF is going on with this thing?

Wow, strange, this is a fairly common occurrence with the iPhone 4s.

If a factory reset didn't fix it, I think you're screwed.

I assume this is the original ROM...

Trying to unlock my ASUS TF700T so I can flash crombi-KK onto it.

Downloaded the unlock tool from the asus website, every time I try run the app and unlock my device I get an error message:

An unknown error occurs, this may be a network connection issue. please wait and try again later.

Usually the app runs for 1-3 seconds and gives me this message, only once has it run longer, maybe 10s before getting the error msg.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sony just announced a new line-up that looks pretty sweet - the Z3 series, with two phones and a tablet.

I mention this because the mid-size phone (4.6") appears to make few-to-no compromises from the larger 5.2" version.

http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/3/610...tos/in/5865386 - I like the cyan color!

Good looking, water proof, excellent camera, not TouchWiz - I'm definitely going to be looking at these when choosing my next phone.

Also, Motorola event tomorrow to announce the new Moto G, X, and 360.

Hmm that does look interesting.
I'm a little disappointed in the leaks of the MotoX2 as far as design - looks ugly imo. But we'll see.
The N6 rumors are making my head spin...
Might just pick up an M8 soon to replace the N4.

Who's making the next Nexus? Moto,LG, someone else?

Just something I was thinking about for those of you who have always asked for a ~4.3" flagship phone - nowadays, I think a ~4.7" phone is roughly the same thing, for two reasons:

1. More phones are using Android's on-screen buttons, rather than hardware buttons that sit below the screen
2. Bezels are getting smaller, fitting a larger screen into a smaller package

I haven't done any calculations or anything, but I think something around 4.5-4.8" now is probably pretty close to what a 4.3" phone used to be, in terms of size in hand and usability.

HTC m7 is probably the best form factor I've encountered. If they could fit a 5" screen in that shell I'd be happy

So apparently now if you are in the US, bought your Nexus 5 directly from Google Play and have cracked the screen or have otherwise buggered it then they will send you a replacement (refurb) for free (with a holding fee until your old device is returned).

Pretty cool, but I suppose they have a **** ton of them backed up and need to shift inventory before the Nexus 6/Nexus X/whatever is released.

Motorola supposedly, but still just a rumour as far as I know.

Just bought the galaxy tab s 8.4.

Screen is wtf amazing. Blows out my s4 in terms of clarity and brightness, blacks are wtf amazing.

There's some lag, but moving to nova alleviated it, and im sure when I dig into the motion settings I can improve it even more.

I do have a few other smaller gripes, but this tablet is awesome and its screen for movies/netflix/TV is worth it above everything else.

Wholly recommend for those wondering. The screen is everything and blows out iPad and my s4 easily.

From what I have read LG is still doing the n6 phone and HTC is making the next nexus tablet.

BTW the ASUS watch looks nice. I am holding off until I see what the moto 360 and LG G Watch R prices at but I'm almost certainly getting one of the smart watches later this month.

The LG seems to be the best of the current crop due to it's POLED screen supposedly being visible completely on direct sunlight similar to e ink. But I'm not convinced by the look of it.

Did you get an update recently? I had similar thing happen with wifi and bluetooth with an update to my Nexus. I was stuck until they put out an update that fixed it.

And yeah, I'm also hoping they keep the cheaper pricing as I'll be buying the phone full price. Under $450 for 32gb would be awesome.
I guess the Moto Maker comes from China now with now a leather option. 32gb is $550. Supposedly the camera is better.

I'm intrigued. Only thing is battery life? They barely upped it to 2300mh. Not sure how that'll work w/ a bigger, higher res. screen.

Before I hold out for a Nexus 6.... it's going to be on Verizon, right?

Nexus 5 wasn't, so if I had to guess I'd say no.

I'm still very much intrigued by the new Moto X, but not as thrilled as I hoped to be. Going to have to see how the phone looks and feels in person - from pictures it looks too big and uglier than last year's model. Also, as MacguyV said, only a marginally bigger battery for a bigger screen with more pixels to push.

I just found out, though, that as of right now only the Sony Z3 (not Compact) has been announced for the US market, and then only on T-Mobile so far, though Verizon is rumored to get it. Bummer, I was definitely intrigued by the Z3 Compact.

The screen is supposedly much more energy efficient than the previous 720p one. Pushing more pixels is only part of the calculation.

Ya I hope that's true. We'll see what the reviews say. I think the G2 might still have the best combo. of screen, size & battery for a medium sized phone more than a year later. Meh.

I wouldn't go for anything that doesn't have a 4k screen. Better to have hardware that the Android ecosystem will catch up to rather than surpass.
