Speaking of, I saw a paid weather app for $2.99. Was pretty shocked with all the free apps out there but whatever. Read the reviews and someone was complaining about how the minute to minute updates weren't working lol.

+1

I'd be curious to do a poll of the average Android user to see how many actually use Google Now. I have plenty of Android using friends who have never even activated it.

I only use it for reminders.

issue with the stock kitkat 4.4.4 camera app
when its in video mode and your take video holding the camera in landscape:
if the video(mp4) is transferred to a PC, the video does not play in landscape, it plays sideways.
Ive found a way to rotate the videos, but it seems shorted sighted that the app or whatever drives the video recording, doesn't recognize and save the video in the perspective it was taken.
Am i missing something?

*Question about clearing Google search bar history.

I've tried everything, I deleted my normal Google search history from my Google account, and I tried clearing the Google search app data, but nothing works. Anyone know how to clear your Google search bar history? The only way I can do it now is to hold down on each search and remove them one by one, but that would take forever to do. Thanks.

'Ok Google clear my search history'

Brought up a link to the page where you can do this.

+1 to the Google Now weather card, dunno why anyone would need another app really.

First thing that popped in my head was your Mom asked to borrow your phone...

Can I shortcut directly to it? I don't want to scroll through my Now page looking for it. Also, I use hourly forecasts quite a bit and would rather see it all at a glance than have to move that slider around. And no radar.

I'd wish the cards appeared as they do on a desktop, much better than a slider imo

I like SwiftKey but damn is there a way to change it from double spacing after periods to single? I only want a single space but I suppose it isn't a big deal...

Interesting. I've messed with the settings but haven't seen an option to change that setting. Maybe I'll look again..

Fair enough. Hope it's that easy.

I like having it just for a traffic alert when I'm out.

Singlespacing after periods is for Communists.

The Google Now weather card just shows up, you wont need to search for it. Make sure you have set up GN to give you weather cards, you may have told it you dont want them at some point.

I agree that the desktop version of weather is better, but I suspect it is due to the screen size differences.

FTR my fave part of GNow is the reminders, there is now no excuse for forgetting to do something at a certain time or a certain place. Being able to tell Google via the website to remind me to do something and the phone just reminds me is awesome.

Also I dunno if I have just gotten more used to voice commands or if Google has gotten better at it but I talk most of my phone searches and it is giving me some serious thought to buying an Android Wear watch later in the year, but Google voice typing is still terrible though for some weird reason.

those running kitkat... do you have issues with browser loading the page so you can not see the entire page?

every time I load a new page, the browser makes it over sized so I either have to pinch it or scroll... any know what the issue is?

Do you have any screenshots? Not even sure what is happening but sounds like an issue with the default zoom or maybe being in desktop mode.

Does anyone here use Textra? It seems like there was a pretty drastic update sometime recently. Now, when I get a text message, all that I can do is get a little 1/4th of the screen drop down thing, and if it's a long message I have to click on a menu and then say "open" to get back to the normal interface. Probably not explaining this as well as I could, but I'm hoping/assuming people already know what I'm talking about. Is there a way to go back to the old style where you can only do things in the standard interface?

Also, what are people's favorite text messaging apps anyway? I'm by no means attached to this one and would switch if there's one people here like better.

I don't see any reason not to use hangouts, especially if you're a gchatter like most

Something's always bothered me about mixing the two. But I guess I could get used to it. Major potential issue though: does it still have the bug where an incoming message silences your music for a second? That's a deal breaker if so.
