Disabled and now good to go.
LIES. Did not fix.

Are you sure you're not just losing then re acquiring the wifi connection? Like if the signal is weak.

Thanks for the input. $99 should get it done.

But IMO the pro move is to adjust the "Long-keypress duration" in "Advanced" settings. The default is 450ms, I believe, which is way too long. I have mine at about 200ms, and it's very quick to just hold down on the qwerty row to use numbers.
Thanks a lot!! Much you appreciated

I think that is what's happening but it happens home and at work which it never did before. Signals should be fine.

I'm also coming from an s4, but I think I will like the mega for reading. I'm not sure I still like if it'd awkward in my pocket though.

FWIW I just set an action for connecting to my current wifi network. Disabled wifi, enabled, action triggered, then I let it sit for the last hour and the action has not triggered again. I recently upgraded to 4.3 on a Note 2. There's gotta be another way to troubleshoot this but I'm out of ideas.
:-(

You have no other profiles overriding the volume like headphone connect?

Can anyone recommend stereo Bluetooth headphones (ear buds preferably but closed are fine) that work perfectly with the Nexus 5/7? I can use the N5 OK with my car stereo (I guess it's BT 4.0?) but not with my Plantronics BackBeat GO ear buds.

ETA posting here because I believe there is a known BT issue in Kit Kat.

TIA

I have these and absolutely lurve them

Pros:
1 THEY STAY ON MY ****ING HEAD AT THE GYM. I can't stand any kind of "bud" because they jam against the cartilage, hurt like hell, and still fall out every thirty seconds.
In-ear canals(like Shure) fix this problem but they transmit soooo much in to the headphone that even the cable hitting my shirt drives me nuts, let alone hearing my feet walking sounds like two 12" subs on full blast. These just apply pressure to your head, just enough to keep them sturdy without constant adjustments.

2 They don't hurt too badly. A little discomfort but it's pretty meh, even after 4 hour train rides

3 sound quality is decent. If you're used to iBuds you'll be fine.

4 Cost

5 infinity battery life. idk, they just dont die
they also look good, I get people asking me about them at the gym and stuff. And at $90 they're better than LOL_BEATS that fall apart and need their own suitcase to haul around
Cons

interface. It isn't bad, but there's one button and one LED, this is really not a big deal.

touch-buttons on the side. There are volume and track forward/back buttons on this, but they just require a touch, like a smartphone. This is kind of annoying as in certain situations in the gym your shoulder will inadvertently change the track which can get pretty annoying.

Bluetooth headphones are the nuts! I don't have any yet, but I have worked out at the gym with regular earbuds and the cord is soooooooo annoying!

Thanks! I've added them to my wishlist!

So you would recommend that I stay away from these then?

They aren't for me but obviously a ton of people love that style of headphone.

I'd be highly suspect of that link too, that looks like the currency symbol in pokemon.

Constant Wifi reconnecting seems to be a known issue with s3/s4 on 4.3. Lame.

Fwiw my issue is when playing over bluetooth mostly and that seems to be a known issue as well.

Might just root this bad boy jeez 4.3 seemed fun at first...

Edit: actually this thing is real slow anyway and I've had it for over a year so should probably factory reset and give it another chance as I hear that fixes things.

I was just told there is a way to unlock the Samsung S4 without a code. Anyone know anything about this?

Ok my phone is absolutely flipping out since this update. Can't connect to Wifi, ignores Wifi because of weak signal even when it's not, cycles on and off Wifi, pretty much unusable. Gonna reset now.

The phone that I unlocked (earlier itt) is not able to connect to any data, at all. Only WiFi works.

Have you set up the APN for your new network?

I've gone to the APN settings page, and all the options say "not set".

?

Two options:

1) Ring your phone service provider and ask them to give you the APN details.

2) Use Google to find the APN details for your provider.

(1) is probably going to be easier and more reliable.

Well I've never used an S4 so I'm not entirely sure what's on the page you're looking at but it sounds like all you need to do is Google the APN settings for your carrier and enter them there!

I have a Note 2 which seems to have a known bug surrounding the media scanner. It takes up 60%+ of my battery and the wifi indicator is constantly on. When I connect with 4g, the battery lasts longer because the scanner only works on wifi. I've googled for some fixes:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...7#post47868557

but, has anything worked for anyone short of formatting the SD cards - which is my last resort I guess?

So, quick update. I got frustrated and drunk (mostly drunk) and factory reset my phone because it was going so slow and the known issues with 4.3 were killing me. Did backup what I needed which wasn't much. Anyway it put 4.3 back which I wasn't expecting, but the thing is blazing fast again. Still having that wifi issue though. Will probably slap on CM just to take it for a test drive.
