Yeah, October seems to be the standard announcement month.

If I wanted to upgrade now I wouldnt overlook the N5.

Nexus 5 is the nuts IMO. Even my wife, a superfan of phablets, has become smitten enough with my Nexus 5 that she had me root and ROM her Galaxy Note just so it felt closer to stock. As soon as we have some extra income, we will pull the trigger on a red Nexus 5 for her.

Just wait til the WSOP... After you go swimming with your Nexus 4, it'll be the perfect time for an upgrade.

Is your phone firmware up to date? If so what version of Android are you using?

Looking for a simple notification light app. Currently using Light Flow but it is often buggy on my Nexus 5. Just has work with popular messaging apps.

Has anyone sold their phone on swappa before? Is there any seller protection, or can someone just receive my phone and then dispute the charge and get their money back?

*It looks like I can get $200 on swappa for my galaxy s3, but only $94 on Gazelle.

Swappa is a marketplace. All financial transactions are done through paypal. You would have the same seller protection provided as any other paypal transaction. When you sell your phone on swappa you would need to pay paypal fees and there is a $10 swappa fee I believe. I am not sure who pays the $10 fee the buyer or seller.

I decided to just go with selling directly to Gazelle, it's a lesser price but looks more convenient imo (I don't have to wait for it to sell, and there's no risk of PayPal reversals). I've also heard too many horror stories of people getting their transactions reversed by scammers, and it looks like swappa provides no extra guarantee for your money.

This happens like 1% of the time. You seem to just hate money

200$ wow. In canada you can just walk in a koodoo office(phone provider) and walk out in 5mins with a refurbished(new) s3 for 150$

we just bought 3 of them. they were brand new.

Is there anyway to protect against it? Or am I just **** out of luck if someone disputes? Thanks.

*I still haven't mailed it in to Gazelle, but it looks like the traffic on swappa is pretty dead. A lot of the s3s have been sitting there for over a week now without being sold.

Doesn't paypal have 2 main options when sending money? "For goods and services" or "Gift for family/friend"...something like that.

I believe the first option has some kind of protection built in (which is why there's a fee) and the second doesn't, which is how most people are scammed by the reverse payment.

Also if you're considering T-Mobile and you don't talk on the phone a lot, look into their $30 plan. Only available if you buy the phone yourself or through Walmart I think, but gets you unlimited text and data (first 5GB at 4g speed). Downside is only 100 voice minutes.

Yeah most carriers let you cancel within 2 weeks with no charge. The issue is losing your old plan - if you cancel Verizon to try another carrier, and then move back to Verizon, you would no longer have grandfather status.
Does anyone who is on this plan get LTE? The website says 4g speeds, but not LTE, though some googling says people get LTE on the plan, so I was wondering if someone could confirm either way.

I feel like every obscure problem that can be encountered while trying to root or similar I end up encountering somehow.

So should I be relocking my bootloader on my Nexus 5 after rooting?

No. Leave it unlocked.

Rooting should be trivial. There are apps that will do everything. Push a button or two and wait while it does the task.

edit: PC based programs (not apps)
