Does a lightning-3.5mm adapter come with the phone? If so that'd be a 100% fix in my mind.

i charge my phone while listening to stuff at night , so i ll need an adapter that give me sound + charge and some special headphone for no benefits

Yea but the android change won't be to something proprietary (except maybe Samsung).

The main problem here is that you shouldn't add a feature that will be useful in the future that is definitive default in the present.
If they released some kick ass headphone with cool feature with the new connector and kept regular jack for a couple year or even offer 2 models one with Jack and one without no one would mind. Here it's just a ******ed gamble on a new technology.

That's the key. There are no benefits to the change. I think the Apple marketing is basically saying they did it so they could do bigger and better stuff with all the extra space they freed up. But that doesn't make sense because they didn't do anything. They just removed functionality. What they do on the iPhone 8/9 is completely irrelevant to this device.

That aspect is not a big deal compared to removing regular jack.
It's even more ******ed than not offering a micro SD card reader in phones.

Having some headphone powered by your phone could be useful in theory.
One exemple would be active noise canceling and charging only your phone and not worrying about powering your headset separately.
I'm not arguing about when the technology will be relevant since obviously now it offer no immediate advantage.

So here is my dilemma. I burn through my battery life too fast (stock quotes, MLB app etc ) and while I have my Nexus 6 and am happy with its performance , I hate it's battery life. What phone can I get , that is elite and has a detachable battery ? Does the HTC 10 fit that category? For some reason I can't use Samsung phones( they don't feel right ) , but maybe that's just me.

Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

There are lots of phone that have huge batteries on the market today, I can't think of any off hand, and I'm not sure any would be considered elite/flagship.

However have you considered something like an Anker or Amazon battery pack? They're dirt cheap and can be used on anything

Apple doesn't fix other phones, Batteries Plus doesn't work on the Nexus, and Google was no help. Looks like I have to do it myself. FML.

Roughly what I'd assume a Phillies fan thinks is high humor.

I thought the comedy was more in the level of blatant fanboyism and lack of objectivity by the 2-3 guys that were engaging with me. But cool have fun up there on your high horse.

At least make fan of the wireless mouse with the charging port on the bottom that you cannot charge while using it

my wife broke her 5x screen and it was hard to find someone to replace it. We did finally find someone, but they had to special order the screen/digitizer and it took longer than i would think.

I am probably misunderstanding you, but what technology did they add? Bluetooth headphones already existed.

They aren't talking Bluetooth. They are talking about some new connector that handle sound and power to your headphones.

I don't know anything about this stuff.

Random update...

I've been using the fingerprint method to get into my phone since the above post because the password was still coming up as incorrect. So for quite awhile the fingerprint was my only way to access my phone.

I have updated it everytime it asks and the phone is 100% functional.

Today it randomly shut off and insisted I put in my password because the fingerprint option wasn't available until I put the password in.

I put in the original password because that's all I have and voila. My password and fingerprint both work now.

The password never changed but the phone still worked with the fingerprint until it didn't.

Why would the password not work and then work again?

Something wonky is going on.

Hey guys,

I'd like to get an Android tablet.
Requirements: 10', SD slot and LTE. Thinking Samsung Tab S2 so far (may wait to snatch one from black Friday / cyber Monday). Anyone got any other suggestion?

Use case : mainly for travelling / newspapers / Netflix

Thanks!

What are people using on Android phones for visual voicemail ? I have a Google nexxus 5 and have been using youmail, but performance hasn't been great and it has been crushing my battery lately. There's got to be a better choice ?

Thanks !!!
