Seriously. I hope those people just had a day pass from their group home. I also hope they are never given a day pass again.

It didn't seem all that dangerous after a ****ton of beer. heh
The turkey ended up cooking just fine after the flames dissipated.

I can only imagine if they had video so readily available back in the 80's/90's. This video would be mild on the spectrum of "Wow".

sorry no pics of the full spread but my parents needed some extra meat for the big meal so I decided to smoke two half turkey breasts, about 3 lb each...

brined for 8 hours and then smoked at about 275 with cherry wood to about 165 degrees and pulled. wish I had some more pics of it sliced up but it was bomb

definitely going to do this more and use it for sandwich meat

bonus pic of the tiny thanksgiving plate I gave my dog, made her sit and wait for it though lol

Yeah, I had to run out for a few things and I saw these russet sized purple potatoes, so I grabbed three. The flavor is the same, it's a true potatoe, unlike yams/sweet potatoes. But I wasn't sure what the texture was going to be like, so I just put three with about six russets. They were a bit waxier than the russets, but not as waxy as the little red roasting potatoes.

And yeah, that video.. The lid was lol.. like.. the oil is boiling over, so you close the pot.. making it hotter? And worst of all.. 40 pounds of propane-- I was expecting a "KAAAAAABOOOOOOOOOOM" to happen at any moment. How can people be this stupid?

yes extremely juicy....I always brine turkey breasts before smoking them specifically so they don't dry out. Takes about 2.5 hours usually on my smoker. Honestly not hard at all and delicious.

27,

Yeah, good sear without overcooking is tough, especially cooking a bunch at once. A few around side of pan were extra weak. Took those for myself and gave the better looking ones to guests.

I agree a good sear is tough. Hopefully the ones in the middle of the pan looked something like this
